LSU is easily one of the top 20 programs over the last 5 years.

In what world is that mediocre?

One where you compare how much money is spent with the other top 20 programs and then cross-reference those rankings.

He's in a no win situation b/c he put himself there. He either needs to be fired or a new guy that deserves the credit or he needs to quit meddling with Cam.

les' detractors point at the '12, '13, '14, and '15 as the tell tale sign that the program is in trouble. over those 4 seasons lsu has went 49-15.

your math is way off. From 2012-15, Les is 36-14. Cupcakes sweeten that overall record.

Les is 20-12 in the SEC from 2012-15, and only 14-10 over the last 3 years.

With our fertile recruiting base, facilities, money, and support, that's a bad record, regardless of how you want to spin it.

of only moderate quality; not very good.

There are 128 FBS teams. Being in the top 20 programs puts LSU in the top 16%.

If you think that is only moderate quality, you don't understand how math works.

I'd start another thread for this, but then Choctaw and Beefense would show up and try to ruin it.

What would you say is Miles best strength as a football coach?

It all depends on the universe of schools we're judging ourselves against.

What people are trying to say is that for an elite football school like LSU, with its fertile recruiting ground, lack of legit in-state competition, facilities, money, support, etc., we should be among the top teams in the country most years.

So yes, being ranked no. 20 is nice, if you're Wake Forest, San Diego State, New Mexico, etc.

It's the elite football schools that we're measuring ourselves against. And among those, we're not anywhere where we should be.

And THAT'S why we're mediocre.
