In my book its a 2 horse race for meanest between Andolsek and Nicky Savoi.
The other guys on the list were great football players and hit like a ton of bricks, but IMO they weren't out there trying to put somebody in the hospital.

Andolsek just had an animal rage about him. For anyone to put the fear of God into Eric Hill is, to say the least, impressive.

Shawn Burks was the meanest SOB I've ever met or played sports against. When he stepped on the field or the court he hated everyone. He also got the most out of his talent and I think he still holds the record for leading the team in tackles for 3 straight seasons.

Before my time but Art Cantrelle was said to be as tough and mean as they come. There was an SI preview back in the early 70's that predicted that the Tigers would be in good shape for the season if they could keep Cassanova healthy and Cantrell out of bar fights (or something to this effect).

I played with Shawn in High School. One day our coach had about 15 of us sophomores playing defense against Shawn and the offense. I was playing a safety.
Shawn broke through the line and ran straight for me.. no jukes.. straight for me. He hit me so hard, it broke my face mask..
He drug me about 15 yards before enough people were able to catch up and wrestle him down. That was the hardest contact I ever had playing football.
