Considering both of those guys played QB in high school, my guess is that they just want to see them on offensive side because they were great with the ball in their hands in high school. Just taking a look and seeing what type of athlete they have in those guys. Same with Brazil and Jefferson on offense. These guys are good enough athletes to play on either side of the ball. So coaches just giving them a chance to show what they can do.

I hope not. Jimmy Graham didn't do shite in college. 17 career catches in his one and only season playing football. I would hope to get alot more production at the college level from one of the top 5 TE's in the nation.

Has there been any video of them actually working with the position groups, or is it just of them going through the hands drill? I know there were some shots of Brazil with the RBs, but I haven't seen the others.

look at the lsusports homepage.

Not fulltime FB's. More like hybrid RB/FB/H-back TE's.

Fulltime FB's are blocking 80+ percent of the time. That would be a waste of talent for them. But they can definitely take some snaps in the backfield

Why would it be in jest? Graham is a great NFL player but didn't accomplish much at the college level since he only played 1 year of football. I would rather that somebody compare Smith to a former college football All-American.

Do you honestly think that someone wanting Smith to perform like Jimmy Graham means that they want him to play basketball for 4 years before hitting the football field? No. He means Saints Jimmy Graham, not Miami Jimmy Graham. Your take on this is so bad it makes me wonder if you are being intentionally obtuse.

I think anybody that compares a kid who hasn't played one down of college football to an NFL Pro Bowler is jumping the gun a bit.....to say nothing of the fact that to make that comparison you have to compare Drew Brees and the the Saints offense to the offensive philosophy of Les Miles and LSU's horseshite QB since 2007.

Why are you trying so hard to miss the point?

Exactly. These guys all played both way in HS. Most were probably the best player on the team no matter where they played.

It makes sense to give them a look at various positions before having them locked in.

It is so painfully obvious what the guy was talking about when he made the Jimmy Graham comment.

Beckwith is such a fluid, natural athlete. I'm sure they are doing this to get their ball skills up and teach them the TE/WR position so they know how to defend it better.

He is going to be very good for us.

I always thought jones would be better suited for offense. His highlight tape is impressive on both sides, but he was electric with the ball in his hands on offense.
