If Les wants to find himself out of a job quickly then hire Richt for OC. If he fixed the offense he would probably be given Miles's job.

I doubt Les would have the gumption to interfere with a QB coach/OC who has that kind of track record and has also been a HC in the SEC himself. Would have to be an arrogant SOB to tell a coach like Mark Richt how an offense should be run.

I doubt Richt would want to be a OC.

He will be the HC at Miami, UVA, or Maryland. No way he ends up as a college QB coach.

I say Cam DESERVES a chance to do the job he was hired to do! I don't understand the fire Cam train when we have no idea how good a OC he could be! I mean shouldn't we at least give him one year as OC before firing him?

A little tongue in cheek.

While I would love to see a coach like Richt come on board to get this offense cluster on the right track and be given the authority to so, it ain't gonna happen.

The AD would have to convince him to go to LSU as an OC/Asst HC and point out the special "opportunity" of taking the job.

if the $$$ are right he might come here. Why not use that $15 million we were going to buy out Miles with on Richt as OC?

gOT TO MAKE AN OFFER SO Ridiculously large he would be foolish to turn it down.

True...unless he thinks turning around this LSU offense will give him the inside track on the LSU job when Miles steps down (which is probably in the short term) or on another big time job.

Honestly, it's unlikely, but not an absurd notion.

That would be awkward as hell to get fired as HC after 10+ years and then take a job as OC or QB coach or whatever under the new regime.

Could you imagine the potential conflict if they lose 6 games next year?

More likely Richt goes to Alabama when some other delusional program gives Kiffen another shot at being a head coach. Mizzou? The other USC?

Richt doesn't mesh with Miles' offensive philosophy. Would be a great hire, but it's not happening. If Cam Cameron gets hired elsewhere, Mizzou's Josh Henson is our man.

Nah, the word on the street is that if he stayed in Athens, it would be as an Asst. AD type position. Not as a coach.

He started a program here that helps former UGA players after they graduate with finding jobs and stuff. Part of the job would be directing that.

He didn't say in a coaching area, the school made mention of some other capacity

I understand. I was just tying together the OP and then him staying in Athens.

I know it's not what you were implying. Lots of ex-coaches stick around their old stomping grounds in some capacity. Hitting the donation trail, golfing 4 days a week.

Richt is only 55 years old. It would be crazy with someone with his accomplishments to be done coaching. As I said he would be a homerun offensive coordinator hire, but I doubt he could put up with working under Miles.

I am surprised a guy like Muschamp can operate under Malzahn.
