scroll at the bottom of the screen on SECN showing the UF/LSU results among all sports...

LSU hasn't had a good season against the Gaytors in the 2016-17 academic year... time to get a big result

he basically said he wasn't pitching Lange on 3 days rest b/c he's never done that to Lange before

so if Lange isn't going Tuesday... why not give Poche another day of rest

Faedo pitched yesterday. I don't think he'll be picking any until Tuesday at the earliest. More likely it'll be Wednesday.

That would be glorious to have a Florida kid shut down the Gators.

No doubt.

Strategy is simple. 2 chances to win 1, then you get Lange to shut that shy down

Exactly. CPM is putting all pressure on FLA to win game 1 because LSU has #2 and #1 going Tuesday and Wednesday. If LSU pulls off win Monday, puts LSU at overwhelming advantage to win natty

this is what happens when you have to play out of the loser's bracket and one of your top starters is done.

you are correct. it is time for the bullpen guys to step the frick up if they want a damn championship. Peterson, bain, bush, beck and newman are going to have to win this bitch (along with our hitters of course).

Remember Peterson was to start the first game of the SEC tournament until "disciplinary" action was imposed on him.

Dunn sees something in Peterson. Hopefully he will follow Gilbert's example and give us a heck of a start.

I hope Neuman is on for this series too.

Hess's last 2 choices were UF & LSU during his recruiting process

I see some advantages to wholestaff tomorrow. If you pull out a win, you increase your options for the rest of the series tenfold. If it ends up being a pitching disaster, everyone important moving forward gets extra rest like Hess.

By throwing wholestaff tomorrow, you're basically telling the entire team no pressure, just get out there and do your thing.

Your season isn't ending one way or the other on Monday. It could on Tues. LSU is going to have to go with someone not in the top 4 of their rotation on one day.

If you lose game one. You still have Poche & Lange ready for 2 and 3. If you throw Poche on Monday and lose, your season will rest on a guy who probably hasn't started a game in 2 months.

Agreed. The long-term success of this team all season has rested on its starting pitching.

You want your two best starters on better rest if you know you can't be eliminated in Game 1. If our season ends with a bad outing from one of them, at least we put our best foot forward.

We're essentially going with a reverse rotation from our original series with them early in SEC play. We went Lange, Poche, Walker. None of them notched Ws (though Lange pitched great), and we had to storm back to win that third game.

Now, we'll most likely seen Peterson/Bain/???, Poche and Lange. Even if Faedo comes back on short rest, we'll have our best guy to offset him. If we lose Monday and Poche can't get it done, oh well, because Lange isn't going to be ready Tuesday regardless.

My favorite Mainieri comment so far was when talking about how familiar the teams are with each other, Mainieri said they came close to meeting in the SEC Tournament final then looked over at O'Sullivan and said, "But I guess Arkansas had something to say about that."

Mainieri is a shithead. I love it..!

So we're conceding game one. Great. Rather go Wholestaff on Tuesday but whatever.. maybe we pull it out Monday

You have to accept that we are a depleted staff. So we have to decide where to make our stand...game 1 or game 2.

If Poche goes on a day less rest and we need to go to the bullpen early in game 1 we're fricked. Getting him and Hess a day extra rest gives us the best chance of winning one of the first two games.

We are two pitchers behind Florida. We played an extra game and lost a starter.
