Mainieri pitching plans:
Won't pitch Lange until Wed. if necessary
Poche will pitch Tues.
Monday: TBD
Mainieri said he'll let Kevin O'Sullivan pick LSU's starter for tomorrow.

So we're conceding game one. Great. Rather go Wholestaff on Tuesday but whatever.. maybe we pull it out Monday

That's what I would do. Wholestaff on Monday, then Poche Tuesday, then Lange Wednesday. He said he's never seen Lange on three days rest and doesn't want to risk anything for his future.

As well as he shouldn't. His future i way more important than anything that happens this week. This is the situation you put yourself in when you have to come through the losers bracket.

I thought poche was a given for tomorrow. Gonna be hard to beat Singer with Johnny.

ETA: The last thing I want is to see Faedo.

Your season isn't ending one way or the other on Monday. It could on Tues. LSU is going to have to go with someone not in the top 4 of their rotation on one day.

If you lose game one. You still have Poche & Lange ready for 2 and 3. If you throw Poche on Monday and lose, your season will rest on a guy who probably hasn't started a game in 2 months.

My favorite Mainieri comment so far was when talking about how familiar the teams are with each other, Mainieri said they came close to meeting in the SEC Tournament final then looked over at O'Sullivan and said, "But I guess Arkansas had something to say about that."

Why? You have to go wholestaff for one game. You might as well let Poche pitch with more rest.

And you're really not conceding anything. Florida has struggled at the plate. They have a great pitching staff, but 4-5 runs can beat them even if we are throwing Peterson, Bain, Bush, Beck, Newman.

Paul Manieri is doing what he thinks is best for the team and for both Poche and Lange's futures. I commend those posters who have the insight to know that.

To you keyboard hacks, your ignorance is obvious.

You have to win 2 games either way. Giving the pitchers as much rest as possible at this point could be a good call.

Yeah, but this is what happens when you have to play out of the loser's bracket and one of your top starters is done.

If LSU wins with wholestaff tomorrow it's over.
