So the magic number for LSU to win it all is one right? If LSU wins one game at South Caroline they are the SEC champions.

Their magic number to win the CWS is 10.

Their magic number to win the SEC is 2. They're 1.5 games up on Vandy.

So if LSU wins one game in Columbia and Vanderbilt loses one against Alabama then LSU is the SEC champs right?

Yes. But A&M is 2 games behind so to be outright champs they would need A&M to lose 1. Win 2/3 like they should and it doesn't matter.

South Carolina just took 2/3 from A&M, and they are still very close to not being in the SECT.

This will be a tough series.

no 2

LSU 19-7
Vandy 18-9
Texas A&M 17-9
Florida 17-10

If LSU goes 1-2 and both Vandy and aTm sweep it ends up like this

Vandy 21-9
LSU 20-9
aTm 20-9

LSU is 2 via tie break.

Florida can still be #1 by sweeping and having LSU going 0-3 aTm and Vandy 1-2

leaving it
UF 20-10
Vandy 20-10 (UF won head to head)
LSU 19-10
aTm 19-10

Yes you are correct but LSU would be the number 1 seed if this were to happen. I'm hoping for 2 of 3 in Columbia.

regular season title is overrated it means nothing. I think we locked up a top 8 seed today, so games after this are mostly bragging rights until the NCAAt

Why do I keep hearing this? It makes me cringe when I hear that an SEC title doesn't matter. Why would a conference title not matter?

We can't just fall apart now though. We need 2 or 3 against SC.

because it doesn't, you don't get a trophy, you don't get an auto bid into the tourney, you just get the best seed in the conference tourney.

The way LSU has played assuming we don't go 0-5 we should have a top 8 seed, and that is all that matters.

let me ask you this simple question

what would you rather have.

1) best conference record at end of season, win SEC tourney, don't win it all
2) don't have best conference record at end of season, don't win SEC tourney, but win it all.

having a top 8 seed is much more important than winning your conference.

It shows me by winning the SEC regular season title that this LSU team is National championship capable and have all the tools in place.

we don't need 2 of 3, USCe is a hot team playing for everything, it may move us from #1 to #3 if we lose that series.

we had that too in 2013 and we didn't win the SEC reg season title. Plus we did better than the SEC reg season champ. We made Omaha they didn't.

All good points. Let's just hope LSU can take it all this year.

It is obvious that winning it all is the ultimate goal. If you hit all but one of your goals of the ultimate championship are those young men irrelevant? They played their hearts out for their school and themselves.

We are all better for that.
