this was hands down the best atmosphere and the nicest people.

That is true...but if the other teams fans come in and are disrespectful in our house, it can get ugly quick for them.

Wow is all I can say. Hell of a post by LSUTigerBait on shaggyBevo.com. LSUTigerBait if you are not a professional writer in real life, you should change professions :)

Thank you. That is actually my 2nd name on that site, seeing as my first one "LSUTigahBait" got IP banned before the series even started. I am not a writer or journalism major but I very much enjoy writing. Thanks for the compliments and

I could never have said it as well, but I am from Texas, and I understand every word this man typed. I wanted to go to LSU since I was 4 years old, and graduated class of 2001...one of the proudest days of my life... I grew up 30 miles from the Louisiana border, and sometimes I wish I was born 31 miles further east.

That post has been up for almost 12 hours now, and nobody has the nerve to reply.

In the many years I've toiled in Texas, I have learned that in some cases, this being one of them, silence in the most sincere Texan form of respect. Above being complimentary even...

I never wanted to go to LSU. Like every other person in Texas who doesn't know better, LSU was a trashy city in the middle of a state that lives off government welfare. It only took 2 days at the STRIPES program to realize how wrong I was.

I love you guys!!!

Seriously, I have moved around so frequently the past few years. I keep meeting great friends along the way, and I invite them to Louisiana with me. And every single person who comes with me is blown away by the personality the people have in our great state. Everyone is laid back, easy to get along with and has a bit of a crazy/party streak in them. It's an amazing thing.

Living here in DC, I'll bring friends with me to LSU Alumni Association gatherings, and they can't wait for the next one. I love Louisiana.

That was so beautiful man. Made the hairs stand up. I lived in Houston and loved it. I love Texas but The Boot will always be in my heart. It's the most unique state in the country with the most unique city in New Orleans. I drove a truck for a while through 44 of the 48 mainland states. Every corner of the country is beautiful in it's own way. But, I always can't wait to get back to the bayou. There's a special warm feeling inside me everytime I set foot on campus. It's adrenaline, it's excitement. IT'S PRIDE! Geaux Tigers, Geaux the great people of Louisiana. Keep you spirits up, plenty of people are thinking about you.

Thanks LSUTigerBait! Very well put.

I was born in Texas. Mom's a Texan, but dad was from LA. I think technically that makes me Chaos (Cajun + Tejas = Chaos). Dad worked in the oil industry, and we moved all over the place when I was young. By all over the place, I mean I had lived in Texas, California, Connecticut, Louisiana, Washington, and Missouri by the time I entered 4th grade. We moved back to Metairie for HS. I was trying to go somewhere more prestigious for college, but my dad told me I was going to LSU like he had. It was a money issue at the time, but I am very pleased with how it worked out.

We moved around so much that I really don't have a place to call home. I was born in Texas and I live in Texas, so I could easily claim to be a Texan, but home is where the heart is... So my home will always be Louisiana. I will proudly take all the shite they want to dish out because of that. Of course, the shite stops immediately if I do a little cooking... hehehe.

Tonight I will be drinking to Louisiana!

I'll never understand the real personal hatred that so many fans have of other schools' fans. When I was at Auburn this past season my buddies and I were sitting in an Auburn section and heard more than once comments about Katrina, were called "f'in cajuns", etc. The Bears fans did it to Saints fans at the '06 NFC Title game. That just baffles me. Sports to me is a recreational outlet, entertainment, and though I get full force into it, I like the good-natured ribbing between fans like "tigerbait" or whatever other traditions schools do to opposing fans. The "corndog" comments, even the f'in cajuns doesn't bother me, but the Katrina comments were over the top. It just gets personal then.

im not joking at all. this thread actually brought tears to my eyes on several different posts. im born and raised Baton Rouge. moved all over from 23 years old and travel everywhere in my career. i live in SLC now for the past year and i havent met a person yet who has been there and didnt like it. we have taken vacation twice since we moved here and both times it was straight back to the bayou. xmas and crawfish season. people just dont understand that undying loyalty and love for LSU that i have like so many of yall. i actually saved the first post to word and i plan on showing it to some of the people i work with. thank you so much tigahbait for saying what i cant.

After reading this I wanted to pound my chest. Being from Lake Charles now living in Des Moines, IA, I wear my gear not only to show surport for my team but also that I'm proud of my people and where I'm from.
