Anyone else notice a larger presence of LSUPD on campus for the game?

I heard before the season that they were going to crackdown on tailgates, especially student ones, this year moreso than in the past and it sure seemed like it. Multiple student tailgates had kegs taken away or even shutdown because of the presence of underage drinkers. Obviously, it is against the law to drink under 21 so students are defenseless and have to find ways to minimize their risk, but in the past, it has never been a big problem aside from a few MIPs handed out. I had never seen whole tailgates being raided/shutdown before.

It was ridiculous. We had our kegs taken. Pulled up squad cars and 6 bike cops came. I was furious.

I guess tailgates will need to start carding.

The party police showed up at our tailgate party trying to sell hats. Dude was very annoying. My neice and bunch of her friends were hanging out (all under 21) with us. She saw "Police" on his shirt and initially freaked out.

they did this shite at the end of last year too. We went to the game @ UF and were talking about how LSU gamedays are so much better because the cops aren't dicks. 2 weeks later, we start doing the same thing

if you aren't causing problems, they should leave you alone. Just my opinion

if you want to move from 125 to 120 in the top universities rankings, you are going to have to clean up your image a little

The problem with these student tailgates is that they look incredibly obvious that they are. When all you have is a few beer pong tables and 5 kegs, its going to be pretty easy to spot.

We had no problems on Skip Bertman Drive. Could have used a cop when a man decided to start a fight with a women.

The law is retarded, but what else do you expect from the government.

Not this guy. I just know that random groups stop at our tailgate.

true, but I found the enforcement of these inconsistent. There were student tailgates near us that had beer pong and were acting much more out of line. yet, they never got confronted by the police. I think they just look to go after larger student tailgates first regardless of how obnoxious they may or may not be.

agreed, its pretty obvious when you have 30 kids that look 15 wearing ties and drinking beer.

I guess once you are over 21 you have free reign to drunk and obnoxious.

I'm 27, and don't consider myself young looking. Last year walking to the game a cop on a segway carded me.

I thought he was joking... until he asked if I had another form of ID. I showed him my credit card and told him how unneccessary I thought it was.

We had no drinking games being played and everyone was acting well behaved. One underaged kid was caught so they decided to take all of our kegs. I'm pretty sure he even wandered over from another tailgate. It was completely unnecissary.

seems pretty stupid that you can get a minor in possession as a legal adult
