D was tired because we were unable to stop the spread offense again.
Guess what Oregon runs ............

Not sure about the best talent stuff either.

If we always have the best talent and the best coach, logic would say that we should always win the SEC. Been several years since we won the SEC or went to a BCS bowl.

bullshite!!!!!
To say we haven't is to admit that you're blind. We most definitely have. Day games are not as electrifying as night games and as a result, the fans just aren't the same, hence, lost advantage.

I doubt we play a single night game in tiger stadium this year against a ranked opponent.

I assure you that most HS players would rather come to an LSU over Mich AND ND. And NOW esp Ohio St.

You can assure us as to what most HS players think? OK.

From your other posts and your rock solid belief that your opinions are fact, I'm going to guess that you are in you early to mid-twenties. Is that about right?

Not sure about anyone else's "Tigers" but MY "Tigers" are the baddest team in the land and always will be. I grew up in a family that didn't follow LSU except for one uncle who beat my brains in with LSU history since I was 7 year old. I've been in that stadium threw the mid 80's and went to every game I possibly could since then. Even when we got our asses trounced the "True Tiger Fans" showed up no matter how bad we were gonna get our arse beat and stood behind the team we were born to love. I honestly don't post much on here because of all the bitching and cry'n and the sense of entitlement most of the fair weather fans seem to have. When you really bleed Purple and Gold...you show support 100% of the time. I look at MY "Tigers" like family and when a family member goes threw a rough time, you have their back no matter what. People can say what they want and bash my post...and I'm not about to get into a piss'n match and argue about dumb shite...There is no place in this nation where people pour more heart an soul into their team like True Tiger Fans.... I am so thankful and blessed that God chose me to be apart of such a great tradition...and to say I never went to LSU as a student, the passion I have for this school and the athletic programs is unmatched by anything else in my life. As Uncle Duke always said..."If ya ain't a Tigah, ya Tigah Bait"! Geaux Tigahs!

Tiger fans in Baton Rouge kind of miss out on this point about LSU. Tiger fans are a little shell-shocked by the last minute wins, some of the crazy stuff that has gone.

Fans of other teams, whether in the Big 12, Big Ten, Big East..when or sometimes even while their team is playing, they are tuning into the LSU game. Basically if LSU versus Auburn, Florida versus Alabama, OU versus Texas, and FSU versus Miami was on...guess which game would be getting the most views.

I researched LSU game viewership last year and it was top five in every slot it took, and if it was primetime it was #1. I know, I know, not too many marquee games are all being played at once, but LSU had more games on CBS and ESPN than any other team (8). The Bowl game against texas A&M? There are now talks of making the Cotton Bowl a BCS game replacing the Fiesta because LSU showed up in it.

And CONTRARY to popular rantard opinion...ESPN likes LSU and Les Miles

Do you realize WHY LSU plays more DAYGAMES?? I guess YOU would rather LSU NOT be good enough for a CBS game just so you can tailgate????? It should NOT matter when a TEAM PLAYS. They should be just as good at 7:00 as they are at 2:30.

I always hate it when people say things like that. We get as much love from ESPN as any other school not named USC,Ohio State,Notre Dame or Florida. Not every school has their coach doing ESPN promos like Coach Miles does. ESPN loves LSU.

I will never understand why so many tiger fans put down our own team..

We're not putting down our team .. We're simply fans that understand that LSU is by no means the only college football team thats loaded with talent ..

Why do we play such close games with Podunk State? Why do we need an act of God to squeak by a weak TN team at home?

It's the drama that's creating the image.

I'm taking the angle that based on the stats I gave, which you can check for yourself, our OL and DL performed better ON THE FIELD last year than Alabama's.

quote:

Also, as for the DL statement. Bama only plays 3 DL at a time... learn the difference between defensive schemes dude.

I don't care if they play 3 or 30 on the line. Alabama was abysmal in sacks and tackles for loss last year. And against a weaker schedule than LSU played.

Stop arguing recruiting rankings, and start comparing production...dude.

What are you doing around here? I'm looking at the Grand Mesa out my window right now.

You should know that there are many Louisiana transplants in this area. We have a LSU/Saints bar in Glenwood Springs. I have several friends from Louisiana here. It's not uncommon at all to see people with LSU Tiger stickers on their cars.

So, I'm not surprised you ran into other LSU fans in Junk Town.

If you can't make an argument without resorting to name calling, go back to the SEC Rant. Or repeat third grade, I don't care which.

but just because LSU is so talented doesn't mean there aren't other teams in the SEC just as talented

Except he said "more talented". Rankings are subjective. Stats are based on performance. Add to that, The Tide has lost some key depth this year.

Two sec teams went to BCS bowls last year, and we were not one of them.

That was then, this is now.

Win two more NCs in the next five years and we will be at the top of the heap.

Possible but not probable.

We have the chance to be. With USC now headed by an amateur coach and on sanctions, OSU in turmoil and in trouble with the NCAA, Texas with coaching upheaval, and UF in transition, I think we have the chance to be. I think we have competition with Bama for that spot.

Not many teams have sustained a recent run of success like LSU when you think about it. Our two recent down seasons were by no means terrible (except in some LSU fan's eyes). Some of the teams that have tumbled during our run.

Miami
Florida State
Notre Dame
Michigan
Ohio State
USC
Texas
Georgia
Tennessee
and possibly Florida

The only other team that's sustained the same amount of success probably OU. What's more impressive to me is that LSU has done it through a coaching change and while playing in the toughest conference in America. That's damn impressive.

The other thing is that people love to see what our coach is going to do or say next. The ones that love him and the ones that hate him (there seems to be no middle ground here). Les Miles draws an audience.
