Yep. Not getting much litigation work, though. So it's nice to work out the old skills every now and then.

On an unrelated note, how many argumentative insomniac college football fans that don't have to get up for work in the morning are there on the internet?

Geez, don't you people have lives?

Also, the 2003 split NC happened. The BCS recognizes it as a split and many of your more rational Tiger fans do as well
Consensus equals neither truth nor fact. Never has, never will. The moment the BCS came into existence in 1998, there existed for the first time in major college football a National Championship based directly (to some degree) on the results of games played on the field. At that moment, championships "awarded" by polls became as relevant as national championships awarded by polls in the NFL, NBA, college basketball, college baseball, Div. 1AA football, NHL, etc., etc. I don't care if you (or ESPN, or the BCS, or anyone else, or everyone else) claims otherwise. Opinion is not at issue, here, thus neither is consensus. One championship is won by winning on the field. Championships that are "awarded" by popularity are meaningless in a discussion of what is "earned"

I do. I usually live it well into the night. Depends on my work schedule.

Jebus, but you are one verbose sumbitch, I'll give you that

While you gave a valid argument, logic form has proven that even when an argument is valid, it is not always true. That is the case here.

Hope you find work soon. God knows the world needs more busy lawyers.

I'd hate to break up this love fest in here, but um... How was the show? Any cliff notes?

Let's save the LSU-SC jabbing until there is a realistic chance we'll be playing each other.mhopefully that will happen this year.

LAT: Nobody's preseason ranking is "deserved".
KJ: USC Cheated. They deserve nothing.
LAT: Yes we do, the NCAA is full of shite.

That's about it.

Pretty good summary.

As for the show, they talked up LSU pretty well, but made a pretty big point of emphasizing our question marks (especially QB and WR). Raved about our defense and special teams, but really spent about 75-80% of the time talking about how our offense (meaning Mettenberger) may or may not be for real, and that our season will turn on the answer to that question.

Nothing real shocking, nor particularly insightful, and all pretty obvious. A little more critical of our "unproven" talent than I've seen them be with other programs, and way critical of Russel Shepard. But pleasantly little skewing for the moment. Whether that continues into the season of course remains to be seen.

According to some it will be LSU vs Oregon this year, but i would like to put the USC (espn slobbering on that trojan cock) and LSU (everyone says espn hates the hat and tigers) into the championship game so ole lane can get his arse handed to him again by the very conference he was scaried to coach in and ran to the pac-12 and all the espn commentaters man crush on USC can finally come to an end.

USC handle yalls business and we will see yall in miami.

OK, what has LSU done to deserve that spot?* *or anybody else for that matter?

I've been arguing a point about this for a few years now. Why the hell aren't the bowls used to rank teams for the next pre-season poll? How is it fair to Alabama that they aren't #1 anymore? What better way to make more money than to actually have more people interested in the meaningless bowl games? If the bowl committee sat down and said, okay, Meineke Car Care Bowl, you get the #20 team in the nation, and then a choice of a second team 21-24, the team that wins is granted the #20 spot in the polls to begin next season. And whether the #20 team moves up or down is then based off their games, not random arse speculation. The BCS bowl selection would work exactly the same, but by winning, you guarentee the next year's class a spot locked in for next year.

I know the other side of the coin is it boots out preseason rankings, but that can be substituted. Things like power rankings, conference picks, and team analysis could easily fill the media's list of bullshite they come up with, right?

He doesn't need to be the next Cam Newton you idiot. He just needs to control the offense.

Just like Fox news, anything to stir up the hornets nest and try to keep people watching so they get "good" ratings.

So, covering the stories that the other networks omit or barely touch to further their liberal agendas is "stirring up the hornets' nest"? Maybe, just maybe, they get better ratings because they are the only alternative to leftist media.
