Just read this USA Today article blasting us for the treatment of a legendary coach. Mostly for shamefully letting him twist in the wind.

I'm embarrassed. The more this goes on, I think it's time to take this to Alleva's door.
This is actually happening pretty quickly.

Two years from now, no one but LSU fans will remember any of this.

A 14-0 or 13-1 National Championship season with the next coach makes all of this a moot point.

If LSU hires a 'name' coach, someone with the respect of the college football world, most of this feigned indignation and outrage will go away.

Nobody is going to remember any of this in a few years, especially if we win. Remember the Mike Price debacle in Alabama? So let them say what they want. This will all blow over with time.

Alleva is responsible for all this.

What do you want him to do?

If he's in talk with someone and not sure yet, there's nothing to say.

"I'm working on his replacement and if I can't lock one up, we'll keep him"
Is a terribly stupid thing to say.

"Les is staying" during negotiations with another coach is incredibly stupid.

"les is fired" before we have a replacement is incredibly stupid.

The National media is throwing a 5 year old temper tantrum because they want to know right now what's going on and LSU is smartly staying silent.

If they're in talks with Les about hiring new coordinators or assistant coaches, then again a statement at this time makes no sense.

Les is also a mid60 year old with kids. He might be pondering retiring and he told the booster club he wants to maybe retire and they said he can have the courtesy to think about it. Which again wouldn't make send to make a statement.

All of you saying "Alleva is an idiot and he isn't handling this right" I would like to hear from you what exactly you think the situation is and how he should handle it. Unless you're just a reactionary tard in which case, carry on.

Alleva had more to worry about right now than pacifying a bitch fit in the national media.

The same media, especially ESPN that has been blasting Les continuously since the Alabama fiasco is now making villains out of LSU followers for even thinking that he should be let go now that it has been determined that it will happen. In three days Les has risen from "At best a mediocre coach" to now " One of the all time greatest"

stop trippin', alleva isn't the problem... as far as the whole LSU taking a beating nationally, it's just the flavor of the week... a week after miles is gone, bigger and fresher stories will pop up to replace the miles firing story. trust me, if we get jimbo, chip, herman or one of the other top names out there, then the majority of the media will change gears and cover the hiring from a positive angle or at the very least they'll back off the whole 'LSU fans are spoiled children for wanting miles gone' thing.

Those networks have nothing to do but overdramatize and foment controversy for ratings. Do as I do, don't watch them beyond live sporting events.

Pretty much.

Miles is a quirky, unpredictable coach. LSU was 'must watch' football during the "Lesticles" era. (05-08)

The era of The Hat, the trick plays and the Tigers being fun to watch ended a long time ago. This has been a painfully conservative team that is slogging through a malaise for years, now.

You are SO right! How many people here have watched our offense year in and year out be crippled and incapable of pulling their weight on the team? How many people here are sick and tired of watching garbage QB play? This is callous, but it's a white elephant in the room that needs to be dealt with, and dealt with quickly. Can you imagine the reaction if we allowed our current staff to run our program into ground similar to what happened at Texas? Bottom line, we will never make anyone happy. Pending the outcome of a solid hire, this (to me) shows our school's commitment to excellence in our football program. This is a business at the end of the day.

Bama took a huge hit when they fired Mike Shula, the favorite son so to speak. That did not last long. This too shall pass.

This. If the new hire wins, no one will remember or care this time next year.
