One of the loudest moments that sticks out to me actually had nothing to do with LSU. I forgot who we were playing, but in 07 when they announced USC had lost to Stanford. The place went nuts
Just saw someone else mention that previously

In honor of my grandparents and their seats we sit in to this day, I will ask them to consider this one

I’ll frame it as proof that elevated decibel levels is hereditary.

2007 UF had the loudest moment I’ve ever heard when they announced that USC lost

I’ve never heard anything like that before or since. It was an amazing moment.

This thread gives me so many goosebumps every time I read it.

2007 Florida loudest single moment.
2012 Bama loudest sustained noise and just overall energy all the way through. 2014 Bama was amazing as well.
Ole Miss 14 was loud because it was literally a one possession game the whole time and it felt like the crowd was helping the D control the outcome.
2008 UGA was about as quiet as I’ve ever heard TS for a big game.

And 2 minutes later Tim Tebow hit the TE for a 60 yard TD that literally quieted the place down in an instant. I’ll never forget that moment, the announcement, and then UFs ability to just zone it out.

2019 and the “You Suck” chomp was the greatest thing I’ve seen in Tiger Stadium because it was EVERYONE in sync. No delay, no echo, somehow we were all doing the same thing at the same time.

The loudest sustained I’ve ever heard was 2012 Bama. It’s why so many people (SVP, for example) view that as the greatest atmosphere ever witnessed.

I wasn’t there, but my vote would be for ‘07 UF. You could HEAR the atmosphere through the TV when they announced USC lost. I’m 29 now, and that’s the most memorable moment with my dad as he sat outside for about 3 hours trying to explain to me what we had just watched and how amazing it was.

2012 was also the quietest I’ve ever heard the stadium.

Ohio State game in about 87 was loud but ended in a tie. It was eerily quite as the huge crowd filed out. No celebrations or cussing about a loss. Just silence,

1971 Notre Dame - everybody was on their feet shouting the entire game.

I believe I have been at all the "marquee," storied TS games since the 1990s. The loudest was 1997 Florida, both for sustained noise and peak noise. The fanbase unleashed a decade of frustration that night. 2003 UGA and 2012 Bama were both epic, but one incremental echelon below 97 Florida. The crowd noise in TS has declined noticeably in the last half decade, even during our greatest season of all time (2019). Disheartens me. But I cannot restore fervor and passion to humanity. TS at its apex is the greatest, most intimidating, most spectacular sporting venue on Earth. That is not an exaggeration.

Agreed. ‘19 FLA was an amazing atmosphere, but not even close to ‘03 UGA game (loudness)

I legitimately got sick from exhaustion after the 2012 Bama game. That was by far the loudest I’ve ever heard tiger stadium in person. As far as single moments go I think Tyrann’s punt return vs Arkansas in 2011 might be up there as well.

I know it's not one of our most hated rivals or often in these "loudest ever" lists, but that SoCarolina game where they were ranked #2 coming in (??yr-LM era) deserves mention, if only for providing my all-time favorite quote from an opposing player about playing in Tiger Stadium":

The Scar QB said after the game that "it was so loud out on the field that I couldn't see the signals from the sideline because my eyeballs were vibrating."

Nights like that night and 07 Florida and all the other great games on this list are what make being an LSU fan and getting to claim Tiger Stadium so special. You just can’t duplicate those type of fall nights.
