That's bc nobody predicted that. 15-20

And I would imagine the ball has to be well hit. Routine fly balls aren't all of a sudden going to become HRs.

This. We're going to steal more bases.

And before it's brought up, a failed hit and run doesn't equal 'bad baserunning.'

New baseball helped Kansas more.

Two kids hit their first collegiate home run ever in history of all time...lol

some of the young guys yesterday had some bad approaches at the plate but that will come with time.

I'm excited for our offense, but it's only one weekend.

the ball may be a little quicker off the bat

Why would lower seams make it quicker off the bat?

We got we good jumps. But it helped that those KU catchers were just awful.

Sorry, not able to provide a link, but the Kansas coach/players had a lot of nice things to say about the wkend. One comment stood out, when the HC said "LSU has incredible team speed". Their outfielders made 6 game changing catches & their shortstop had 3 big league plays." Several players commented that "LSU has the greatest fans in college baseball" & said the atmosphere was "almost beyond description". Google KU baseball for the articles if interested.

Laird turned a hit and run ball hit to left into an extra base to third. Was pretty damned impressive.

And one of the plays by Bregman was just unreal...

I love great D and hustle offense. Looks like the new ball will make baseball baseball again.

Anyone that went to the games can you tell a difference in the New Baseball?

I held one saturday and its a very noticeable difference in the feel of the ball.

Haven't really seen it translate to the field yet much though.

You can't steal a base without first getting on. 5 out of the first 6 innings yesterday - leadoff man gets on.

No way that HR by the Kansas player to RF would have been a HR with the old balls, I was surprised that one made it out.

Agreed. On the other hand, Kade's blast would have been out last year. Puzzled by one ball that Bergman hit. A high fast ball that he absolutely torched but it appeared to die on the warning track; wound up being a sac fly. All in all, didn't notice much difference yet. Tiger's made great contact against a team that would definitely win some games against an SEC schedule but not many loud hits yet. Time will tell.

Georgia thinks the balls make a difference. They hit 13 HR's last year. They hit 6 this weekend. I know we didn't hit but one this weekend, but we should see the numbers increase along with the rest of the baseball world. It might take time to get used to the ball in live competition, however.
