The good news is these things will go away when LSU fans keep leaving early and/or not showing up at all.
haven't you heard? we like to leave the game early to rape and pillage the opposing teams fanbase.

...it's that he said he wasnt leaving and then left very late (Christmas Eve I believe). It put LSU in a very difficult spot to find a new head coach since so many of the available "free agent" coaches had taken other positions...
I hear what you are saying and I agree with you, but if a coach or any employee wants out...I say thanks for your efforts on my behalf and don't let the door hit you on the azz on your way out. If a man doesn't want to be somewhere, then he needs to be gone and the sooner the better is my thinking.
Now, if anyone has beef with Nick, it's the Miami ownership. Tell me those people didn't have a serious case of the reds after Nick's hit and run behavior.

Dude, you can argue wins losses, talent, etc but dont EVEN start to compare the obnoxiousness of our fans to a "greater",not all but greater % of LSU's fanbase that seem to have a problem with class and obnoxiousness.
Yeah...all class.
I apologize for the size of the image but it's hard to see what's going on without it being large.

I think Rouge is on to something here.

While I was not happy that Nick left LSU for Miami, I can see that as a valid "career move." What I do have a problem with is Nick coming back to the SEC and to a hated rival. In the "real world" non-compete contracts are very common. You do not expect your former employees to work for the competition, helping them succeed at your expense. Nick could have gone many places, just not the SEC and not BAMA.

As a LA native, LSU alum, and a long-time follower of LSU football -- and one who has lived in other parts of the south and that has travelled to other SEC football stadiums to watch LSU -- I'm afraid BaysideBama speaks the truth.
While I dearly love my state, its flaship school, and the tigers, LSU does seem to have, in my opinion, the largest contingent of wild, obnoxious fans. I've seen it myself both at TS and at away games -- it is quite embarassing to witness. And juxtaposed against the usually welcoming and cordial treatment of the opponent's fanbase, makes it all the more flagrant. We have a contingent of fans that are just plain nasty.
It is what it is, and the reason: Louisiana's unique culture. As a native of this fine state, you take the good with the bad.
We, as LSU fans, do, however, have much more fun than any fan of any school. And, seemingly an oddity, LSU does have the most hospitable and largest contingent of tailgaters, anywhere, who will share what they have with you, even after calling you Tigerbait.
But we have a long way to go to reach the default decorum we receive when visiting other SEC schools.

But there is a Lynn Espeland lawyer Omaha, Neb if you Google it. Doesn't have to have the same last name.

FWIW, i like Bama fans for the most part. they're real nice before the game, but they like to fight anyone with non-maroon colors after they lose (in my experiences)

Great... Apparently there are now trolls in traditional print media.
Everybody knows that if this were a real letter written by the person who signed it, it would read:
IMHO - I think ol' Lynn either doesn't exist or dropped the ball on somebody's case...
EDIT:
After reading the thread a little more, I am going with the latter.

I thought the FEMA and Katrina chants and posters before the 2005 game in Tuscaloosa were real classy.

I love it when the Bama fans throw garbage on the field. That's always classy.

She's corporate counsel for an insurance company.
As for the name issue, she could have kept her maiden for professional purposes, or she could be married to someone other than the player's father. Not much of a stretch there.
