Take it FWIW, Ross Dellinger said Les Miles talked offense today.

Quote:
Miles talked some offense today:
- said #LSU will look at some spread offenses ran by other schools
- said Etling should "elevate" QB room

That's at least somewhat encouraging.

we'll see

I just want balance in the sense of attacking the opponents weaknesses.. not in terms of 50/50.. but the ability and confidence to run whatever is most effective vs that given opponent.. not just trying to enforce your will over and over again...

i'd be happy with incorporating more spread given all the receiving talent LSU has.

baylor and oklahoma right now seem to run very good offenses. i'm not sure though as i haven't followed other schools as closely. i do know baylor got down to their 3rd and 4th qb though which finally caught up to them.. but that would most schools.

LSU needs to not always rely solely on enforcing their will or straight up execution.. they do need to be more creative in producing offensive success.

Pretty sorry that as highly paid as Cam is that he has to watch other college teams in order to learn about spread offense but all in all, glad that he and Miles are doing that.

Never been involved in football, or any other sport, I see.

If LSU installs a true spread offense then I will conduct the fire Les Miles train.

If you cannot block, throw or catch, what difference does it make what offense we run?

I don't understand this obsession with "creativity". If you can't get the fundamentals right, does any of that other shite matter?

Our 3 losses had the same m.o. Couldn't run or pass block , could not make accurate throws consistently, had critical drops when the throws were accurate, that plus turnovers equal a loss...

Agreed.

This team couldn't execute that simplistic mess they kept trotting out there.

You could see that they were trying to incorporate a lot more spread elements, and just trying not to be so plain vanilla and predictable on offense this past season, much more so than in 2014, or even 2013. They just weren't very good at it for various reasons. Often looked out of sync, disorganized, and confused on offense. Add in Harris inaccuracy throwing the ball, and it was very difficult for it to work they way they planned this season. But glad they are making the effort and eager to see if they have made any progress. We'll get to see a little bit in the Texas Bowl game Tuesday. Looking very forward to this game and very pumped about it.

We've seen the spead in our offense before. It was only a handful of plays back in 08 with Crowten. It turned out bad.

We don't need a spread offense. If we could improve and pefect what we ran against Florida we could be dominant.

What we don't need is an offense that shuts down when we lose a couple of blocking tight ends and a fullback

Umm, yea, he wins a lot and not with a spread gimmick offense.

We can mix it up and add a little spread here and there but LSU is and should be a downhill violent smash mouth grown man football team.
