Well whatever the reason he does it doesn't really matter, but he still throws off his back foot
Yeah, I'm not going to say he's scared or afraid of contact because I have no idea. But he definitely throws off the back foot when there is no need for it. Sometimes he even back pedals after releasing the ball like a basketball player shooting a 3.
Edit: He did deliver some nice touch throws down the field. I think this will issue will have more of an effect on passes over the middle that he really has to stick in there.

Quote "Lee seems to panic when he thinks he is going to get hit. And it affects his whole game. Notice on the fumble. He was afraid to recover it."
I believe he could have recovered that ball had he acted quickly but he hesitated like he was worried about getting hit. I agree that he often looks scared and not comfortable. That said, he did what he was asked to do, receivers dropped catchable balls, and he managed to not throw an interception. Hopefully he will improve as the season goes on.

Lee must lose his fear of getting hit on the football field.
He hung in and took a hit to throw the ball multiple times. This isn't 2008 Lee.

He does look scared out there.
Hopefully time and experience will help that.

Really, the guy was given the keys back in the season opener against the #3 team in the country who played in the national championship last year. Not to mention all of the hype for this game having national title implications, and being played on one of the biggest stages in football. Add to this all the bullshite created by the bar fight and a shite load of dropped balls. I think he did extremely well, he will calm down alot after weathering that strom.

In fairness to Lee, he's only had a week to work as the starter, was playing a team that many predicted to win the national championship, on a huge stage. I think he'll get more comfortable as time goes on. Hopefully he'll destroy NSU early next week and give Mett some time, he's had trouble with cupcakes in the past.
In 07 Flynn looked real shaky against MSU then really settled into the job...but then again, Lee is no Flynn

I do not believe that calling Jarret Lee
"Wimpy" is appropriate whatsoever; fwiw
he took over the team w/little time to prepare
and did a great job. The only thing we missed
last nite is a few times I know JJ would have
taken off running, because he couldn't find
his reeivers. We won fine without him having
to run, his passes were accurate, receivers dropped balls right into their hands. He was
persistent and it came together for him in 3rd quarter....and the team seemed to be comfortable with him as the leader of the team. CONGRATULATIONS Jarett Lee, Job well done.
