We are making the trip up there and Saturday is a friend of mine's 21st birthday and she really wants to go to a good Mexican place to celebrate (and get some tequila 
) . Any suggestions??
Also, we want to go out to the bars at some point but all of us are not 21, can we still get in places if you are under 21?? I heard all of the bars are 21 and up....

they'll walk around all areas of campus all day. if you're willing to take the risk, go for it, but why not just buy cases for 15 bucks at kroger and fill up coolers? i'd much rather be safe than get a central distribution charge for no reason.

I have never been treated worse at an away game than I was in BR (including the swamp). I would like to personally extend an invitation to come by my tailgate for a drink and show people a good time.
There are groups of bad fans at all stadiums but I hope that everyone can enjoy Knoxville and the University.
LSU fans who aren't idiots:
If you get the chance, go eat at Chandler's on Magnolia. It is the best soul food/country cookin' in the city and they have the best fried chicken I have ever eaten.
Bars on the strip will cater to the younger crowd. If you are out of college I recommend the bars on Gay St and in the Old City
Skip calhouns, it's overrated and overpriced. There are tons of better places to eat around the city. Another good restaurant is Puleos.
Anyways, hope ya'll have a good time and feel free to come by our tailgate for a drink of Tennessee's finest! I x'ed it on this map, its the big tailgate in the corner of the lot and will have mostly UT fans but I have friends from BR coming so there will be LSU fans there as well. All are welcome!

Another thing.. DO NOT BRING A KEG.
UT is a dry campus but on gamedays the cops don't care at all as long as you're not acting like an idiot. If you're underage, make sure you have it in a cup.

So drinking won't be a problem for 19 year olds? Me and 4 buddies are going and are wondering how the cops are for underage there. And what kind of bars can we go to?

there's only one bar you can get in under 21, but it's terrible. it's called Rumorz. Hannahs you can get in with a shitty fake ID, and that's where all the 18-20 yo greeks hang out (tons of hot young sorority girls). All the rest, you better have an ID that is real and looks exactly like you if you wanna get in. They're pretty strict on IDs at most bars.

I wouldn't compare it to either. It's more a club with a lot of questionable individuals (thugs) and the skankier crowd on campus. cops won't be looking for underage drining on campus unless you're out of control. just keep it in a cup or coozie and don't do anything stupid (like you would anywhere else) and you'll be fine. if you're in a fraternity, try to get in touch with your chapter there as all the fraternities have band parties after the games
