This is peak Tigerdroppings
Guy 1: they can’t keep losing with all this talent
Guy 2: they can’t build a program with guys like this lol

What’s the point? Different people have different opinions. I certainly don’t think the team has had a lot of talent the past couple years. You can overcome that by developing a core of players, but that’s hard to do when there is a lack continuity in your key pieces.

Maybe we can rewrite the current rules to benefit one coach.

Not sure how he is a downgrade from Wright. Better numbers across the board while playing in a better conference. Turnovers are a bit high but he did a good bit of facilitating so that’s somewhat expected. Hard to see how he is anything except an upgrade

And both of them are right

No point other then extremists being extreme

Our odds of making the NIT next year are looking better

Neither of those points were extreme.

You’re correct, nothing extreme about what I said. Just pointing out the pattern I’ve seen with posters since McMahon has been at LSU.

Solid get, now need about 4-5 more
Posted on 3/29/24 at 2:09 pm to KingofthePoint
Both of them were extreme. You have one guy acting like they just got prime Jimmer Fredette & the other one is obvious to how CBB teams are being built in 2024.

Agree, good player but until we start playing good basketball he could get 4-5 more and it won’t make a difference. McMahon is about 5-7 years behind what successful teams are doing and until he’s willing to grow and change this past season is close to the ceiling for LSU.

I guess it's debatable. Carter played about 4 min more per game than Wright. When you normalize things by Per 40 min you get this:
Wright - 19 PTS, 6.5 RB, 3.2 AST, 2.8 TO
Carter - 16.4 PTS, 5.6 RB, 2.9 AST, 3.3 TO
I guess some might see that as better numbers across the board

Think Jordan Wright/Jalen Cook role this year as a primary offensive initiator
If so, that is a bit of a concern. His volume offensive numbers are fine. But he was inefficient. Sub 40% FG shooting and 31% 3 point shooting to go along with 3 TOs per game isn’t good. Or at least good enough to be your primary offensive weapon.
He is a very good defender…which McMahon ABSOLUTELY needs since his teams have been awful defensively…so if you can pair him with an efficient PG it could work. If your are asking him to be “Jordan Wright” then expect another year of inefficient offense.
Not a bad pickup by any means…as long as you didn’t bring him in to be the No. 1 scoring option

Man I hope some of you can get refills on your meds. To bring anything negative about bringing in a starter from a Big 12 team averaging double digits shows just how pathetic this "fan" base is. And I didn't see anyone acting like we signed some super star. I guess the stupidity will continue. Wright was a great addition to this team. So if this guy is at or better than him it's a good get.

I like it. Good job McMahon. Good start

Make sure you take your delusional medication also.

Everyone excited about this pickup will be claiming he has no talent once the season starts and McMahon continues to lose.

Meh. Can’t create shots or get to the basket as well as Mwani did for us but hopefully will defend at a higher level. If coach MM had just played Mwani more then he wouldn’t be transferring and we wouldn’t have to settle for Carter’s reduced talent.

I don't know. This thread seems pretty even-keeled for the Rant. I don't see anyone arguing that Carter isn't a solid addition. However, I'm not sure he is as good as Wright, esp. when you look at the advanced analytics; Wright has a BPR of 4.42, which is Top 250, vs. Carter's BPR of 3.1, putting him outside the Top 500. He is a solid addition but can't be the cornerstone of this transfer class. CMM still needs a couple of big hitters if LSU is to move off the NIT bubble and into the NCAA.
