At least 2 or three times he turns around and everyone was going in a different direction and he just has to take off running. Did miles address this? Maybe it's just freshman not knowing the play book well enough?

That's exactly what it is. He seems to get confused about the play being called in, although that's not exactly surprising.

Yeah a couple of times he turns one way to hand it off and the fb and hb are running the other way.

"Why isn't Harris starting against Wisconsinnnn????? "

Yeah that was ugly. I would've thought he'd be a little further along then that. Being an early entree and everything.

Dude just needs more reps. Both Jennings and Harris look like great QB's. Familiarity with the speed of the game will help them become better at the position. The only "problem" is balancing the playing time while not hindering the rhythm of either QB.

You can see harris' physical tools are top flight. Once he gets command of the play book he could be the best we ever had here.

I think the game is just extremely fast for him right now. Which is understandable. He's got nerves doesn't know the playbook perfectly and just messes up. All of that will come with time and reps.

That's why I wish we would let him throw some in the 2nd half. Those are valuable snaps. But don't do as much when you are just handing it off up the guy

Ironic, considering this is a thread where he couldn't execute up the gut

I would like to see both play. About 15 years ago we had 2 QB's about equal in talent,I can't remember their names, but the coach[before Miles] played the 2nd QB a series or two every 2nd Q'ter and 3'rd q'ter. Maybe one series in the 4th. After 8 games the starter got injured and the 2nd QB had to play. He was ready with 16-20 series experience and played well the rest of the season. His parents lived across the street from me then, they later moved. That's why I say play both, but Harris a little less right now.

He needs more reps, but you can tell he is coming along slowly. Looked like a deer in headlights in his first series against Wisconsin, understandably.

Jennings is our guy this season. Obviously, Harris needs to be ready to go since he is next man up. I could easily see Harris making a run for the job next season, depending on whether Jennings really progresses from game manager to legitimate weapon. Harris will be scary once he gets the playbook down, gets more experience, and gains some weight. fricking scary

He appears to have a strained, almost constipated expression when he looks to the sideline for the play.

There is NOTHING easy about what he is having to do, early enrollee or not. True freshman playing in the SEC will give most the deer in the headlights look.

What? If they improve and get a lot better, how would you describe them then? No, they aren't great, not even close. They have a lot of potential. Jennings is basically serviceable right now. He's still just a sophomore, so that's not an insult.

There's no 100% guarantee that he'll ever grasp the playbook. Time and reps may or may not do it for him. Too bad he couldn't have a RS year a la Manziel and Winston. It makes all the difference in the world.

It's an unacceptable situation to have only 2 scholarship QB's on the roster in year 10 of the Miles regime. (And one of the two a true freshman) If Jennings goes down with an injury, the season is over because it's obvious Harris isn't quite ready. Third teamer Jared Foster is already injured. Is Brandon Bergeron still on the team?
