No, but seed has nothing to do with the point anyway. He was facing elimination on Saturday night after losing to ECU and did not throw his best available starter against Southern.

You have to be an absolute fool to save your ace for Sunday after getting a whopping 4 hits in yout first game.
Honestly, my head coach would have major problems with his office keys working when he got back to Lafayette if he came home with his best pitcher well rested.

ETA: It wasn't his ace he had to save, but it was a weekend starter...and he threw a guy that had started two games all year.

What part of "you never take the chance of exiting a regional with your ace never throwing a pitch" do you need help understanding?
