Just how much of a chance does Mississippi State have?

State runs the type of offense that Bama has problems defending (see Ole Miss),they're playing their best football right now and Dak is Dak--could he have a 2012 Manziel moment?

And...

Saban is a master at getting his team ready for these games (see top 10 Georgia--they were playing really well with Chubb), LF had a huge game against State and I tend to believe Henry will too, and Dan Mullen has never really coached well in this game.

Can State really pull it off, and if so how?

I doubt it. Playoff chances appear to be over.

They can pull it off with Dak making plays with his legs and Bama getting a case of the "looking aheads" which is completely possible. I think we'll look up in the 4th quarter and that thing is going to be a 1 score games.

If so, the Alabama will likely find a way to put it away.

But, State has gotten better as the season has gone on. They would destroy A&M right now. And, they were a missed FG away from bearing LSU.

Who knows?

Well they will spread things out and won't continue to try and run into a brick wall, I know that.

State and Ole Miss really don't run a similar offense. Bama hasn't had much trouble defending states offense since Mullen got there, but our own offense does tend to come out flat in this game. State's offense was abused by Alabama a year ago and that was with a good running back.

State is good enough to beat Alabama if Alabama doesn't come in ready to play

State definitely has a chance. Bama isn't infallible.

its a late in the season road conference game, it will be close

i see it being a one score game entering the 4th but Bama wearing them down and winning a 31-20 type of game

It all depends on how well the supporting cast around Dak plays. Not sure State's defense will be able to stop Bama enough though.

Tennessee took them to the last minute of the game. I like State's chances better than I liked LSU's this time last week.

If there's any QB that can pull off an upset, Dak can.

Not counting on it but it can happen. Letdown game for Bama after a highly emotional effort on Saturday. I expect it to be close at the least.

If Bama brings 100% effort then MSU doesn't have much of a chance. But it's human nature for teams to take their foot off the pedal sometimes. MSU is one of those games Bama likely already checked off as a win so who knows.

Normally I'd agree w this, but I didn't see anything that showed me that LSU wore them down any. Usually after a team plays LSU, they are nicked up and bruised and worn down. That didn't happen Sat.

One thing State has going for them is Dak, the best QB in the SEC, however, their O-line has struggled this season and that is a definite cause for concern going up against that SICK D-line of Bama's. Also, their run game has been basically non-existent this year, as they just don't have a go-to back. All of this being said, it is going to fall on the shoulders of Dak to keep State in the game, and with two big physical receivers in Wilson and Ross, who's to say they can't pull one "out of the hat"! As someone stated above, you can bet Mullen won't keep beating his head against the wall running up the middle, look for them to spread Bama out and mix it up. May work, may not, but I will be pulling for the Dawgs, that's for sure!

State's o-line looks pretty suspect and Bama's pass rush has gotten better each game. The secondary has seemed to take a step back though

Nick James and Chris Jones are a formidable duo at DT. They must have a good game, and the bad Bama OL from the UT game must show up.

Dak must have an all-world day. MSU's OL cannot match up, so Dak has to rely on quick-hitches and slants to get the ball to De'Runnya and Fred to move the chains.

Dak is great. Mullen is creative. But this game is won with big uglies, and Bama has the ugliest of the ugly.

MSU - 5% chance.
