Dak doesn't look like the player he was last year bc he doesn't have the line he had last year... They don't look like they have much of a chance but who knows.

None.

No, Bama will curb stomp MSU, and here is why:

LSU, with a similar offensive approach as Bama, should have beaten MSU by 21+ points.

LSU had nearly 250+ yards of offense called back, along with two TDs due to the good ole SEC calling holding. LSU goes up 14-0, (should have been 21 then 28) and had to hold on due to all of their big plays being called back.

That officiating crew nearly gave MSU the game. Good thing their kicker missed.

Alabama, unlike LSU, WILL NOT GET CALLED for all of those holding penalties, and all of their yards and TDs will count.

Bama will blow out MSU in Starkville

Dak's numbers are similar to 2014, and more impressive given the talent State lost last year. They have a chance...just depends on which Bama gets on the bus.

When you look at all the loses Alabama has had recently, you'll notice a trend(with 1 outlier)

2010-LSU Jordan Jefferson
2011-LSU. Jordan Jefferson comes off the bench to provide a spark. His mobility allowed him to extend plays and drives
2012-Texas A&M- Johnny Manziel. Mobile quarterback and playmaker. His feet led to big plays against Bama
2013-Auburn. Nick Marhsal only had 97 yards passing but also had 99 yards rushing, keeping drives alive and giving Bama defense fits.
2013-Oklahoma Spread passing attack led by then RS Freshman I think, Trevor Knight, who lit Bama up for 348 yards and 4 TD's.
2014-Ole Miss Bo Wallace. The outlier
2014-Ohio State spread attack with a QB that could extend plays with his mobility.
2015. Ole Miss. Swag Kelly. Was able to use his mobility to extend plays and extend drives by way of scrambling and his receivers being able to get open

Also, Tennesee. Although their QB only had 21 yards rushing, he had 16 attempts, keeping Bama honest on zone reads, helping his Rb get 92 yards at 5.1 yards a carry.

Dak Prescott is a big time playmaker at MSU and Mullen has full confidence and trust in his QB to make the right decisions with the ball. Dak has scrambling ability and Mullen runs the style of offense that has given Bama fits. Mullen is an offensive genius they Bulldawgs have the type of team that can play with Bama in an offensive shoutout.

Dak has thrown for 18 TD's and only 1 INT this year. He makes smart decisions with the ball. He adds another 420 yards rushing and 7 more TD's. In fact, Dak is MSU's leading rusher.

Bama isn't just gonna go into Starksville and roll their helmets on the field and the Bulldawgs lay down. They are going to be in for a fight. The Bulldawgs have the ability and the scheme to pull off this upset.

So, this week, we are all Bulldawg fans.

After LSU and Bama play, they are worn out. I think miss st has just as good a chance to beat them as Florida would, if not better. Bama's 5th year starting center said that was the most emotional win he's seen them experience since he's been there. They might be a little gassed this weekend. We'll see.

All depends.....Alabama played about as well as they could on Saturday night. Basically a flawless game. That typically results from a physical advantage, but also a mental focus. Their physical advantage will be greater this week, but not sure about the mental side.

They are a very good team, but do have some weaknesses that can be exploited if they aren't ready to play.

My guess is that State comes out and gets a lead....gets us all excited and then Bama just wears them down. Something like 30 - 17.

Dak is the best quarterback they will have faced this year. But that's about it.

Yes, they have a good chance. Mullen will not insist on running up the middle. His team is much more pass-oriented than ours and when they do pass, they actually pass and do not just throw the deep balls up for grabs and hope the better athlete catches it. BUT, Alabama's offense is very good and can simply out-score them. I am looking for a 48-37 Alabama victory.

State has no real chance - I'd love for them to win but it's not happening. LSU got abused in the trenches to a point of near satire without Alabama executing any kind of special gameplan (they didn't load the box with 9 guys all game and only 16% of the time with 8) and frankly MSU's line isn't as good as ours.

What I still can't come to grips with with that game was *how* Alabama dominated so clearly while gameplanning like that. You can cry "pass the ball" all night long but that would've only led to more interceptions and a longer night. I guess they could've opened the field some by doing some screen passes to LF7? I don't know.

My football IQ's not high enough to really discern what went wrong but I think the problem is more complex than many posters on this board would have you believe

It's also worth pointing out that if LSU got 5 turnovers in their favor they would've smoked Alabama, and I think MSU is absolutely good enough to win off of a game like Ole Miss had. But they're not getting 5 turnovers.

It depends on which Bama shows up.

quote:

Bama hasn't had much trouble defending states offense since Mullen got there, but our own offense does tend to come out flat in this game. State's offense was abused by Alabama a year ago and that was with a good running back.

Well this is nothing like one of Mullen's past offenses.

And it's not like a good running back would do them any good anyway. They're going to pass the ball 80% of the time. That's probably the way to beat Alabama this year.

I think the officials will determine this one, no way the SEC powers let Bama be put out. To much money at stake
