Nuts your estimate will be wrong, dont pat yourself on the back yet, there's a whole bunch of people going to buy tickets tonight and in the morning before they go.

I expect 50,000+

I certainly hope so. I'm not patting myself on the back, I'm trying to combat a ridiculously unfair narrative that selling only 40-something thousand tickets would be a bad reflection on LSU fans. Apparently, we're already at 39,500, so we are obviously going to top the 40,000 mark. If there's a healthy walk-up crowd of 10,000 or more, that would put us over 50,000, which would be a huge success.

Sitting in 90 degree heat for 4 hours is no fun. I'll do it for the very few times I get a chance but I'm not blaming this fanbase for passing up this opportunity. You want a full stadium, play it at night. You want a full stadium, make it a bargain. None of the above was done, so they'll get what they get

Agreed, that 82 degrees is gonna feel like 110 tomorrow.

I'm not being critical, but this is what happens when it becomes as much or more about the tailgate than about attending the game. It takes more time and planning, obviously. But just getting to watch the Tigers play in person--against a conference opponent--isn't enough.

Fournette should be hired as AD.

If he had been the one to make the announcement and asked fans to come to the game, we would have had a sellout. And if he had called out the fans, he would have gotten nothing but praise and guilt from those who didn't heed his word.

Where are all the fans who complain they cannot buy season tickets? now is their chance to buy a ticket

Where are the corporations in this town?- They should be buying tickets to give away as a charitable gesture-

Where are the students? oops did Aleva think about working out an agreement with SC that would allow students to fill the stadium after a decided time? Many students never get to attend -

I know it is short on time- but Aleva's strong suit is not crisis management.

But in the end I think the Tiger fans will rise up as they always do!

Millions upon millions of Americans will see just how sad Baton Rouge and LSU is. Maybe billions.

Nonsense. They won't pan over empty seats.

The broadcast team will be too busy making LSU sound like a host of angels for being such gracious hosts, sending their charter for SC players, etc. They'll say how amazing it is to sell 50K seats in 3 days (my guess). It will make you sick.

Count on it. It's feelgood TV.

This.

I bought tickets and am going, but I certainly don't judge anyone that isn't going to shift plans they've likely had for months based on this being an away game.

At least Joe is doing us a solid and letting us bring in a water bottle!

My post was meant to be filled with sarcasm towards the "woe is me" guys saying , "think of how bad we'll look when they pan over an empty stadium"

No one in the country is going to care, and no one is watching this game except for LSU and SC fans.

I can remember when they had students night at basketball games and let the students fill the PMAC for free after a time deadline was set for ticket

What a phone call to kids organizations? Boys and Girls clubs etc- A list could be made a mile long

Exxon, Dow, BASF, Shell, CBI, IBM, Where are you?

Chase, Capitol One, Kean Miller, Postlewaite and Netterville, Morris Bart, Mickey D's, BK, Wendy's

I am just getting started- A phone bank should have been set up from Aleva's office calling the shakers and makers of this town

And what about Jindal, Vitter, and all the other politicans who get free tickets- Time to step up and be a giver instead of a receiver

I'm not bashing anyone making decisions on what is best for their family either, but I'd have thought most fans would have had 11am-4pm blocked tomorrow to watch the game on TV anyway.

Again, I see this all shaping up to mean a nice walk up crowd tomorrow. People procrastinate when it is the easy thing to do.

Its a freakin business. If people aren't buying your product, you do something to change that. Otherwise shut up and enjoy your half packed stadium.

It's not joes fault it's the fans , we have a spoiled fan base and one of the worse in collage football , I never thought I'd say that but it's true ....
