Joe is using the results and hindsight to correct and fix his legacy. The process was still a cluster frick and he’s still a clown. He has the dangerous mixture of ego and incompetence.

His bitterness towards Wade likely stems from his gross mishandling of it that lead to his down fall. Dude is a slime ball and never should have been AD for a power program following the Duke disaster.

So are we to assume that O, if hired at A&M would have the same results there as he has here this year?

Probably better than Jimbo. I doubt Mond would still be at A&M

I'm thankful for Joe Alleva's shrewd foresight. He did what was best for the program.

So glad Alleva is no longer AD at LSU.

He still seems as smug as ever.

100% truth.

Alleva needs to just go and stay away.

In short we’re to believe:
1. He wanted Ed all along and knew from the get go.
2. We totally could have Ed and Tom but they weren’t in it for the right reasons so he went with Ed.

Then why was there any search at all Joe? Look I was completely wrong on the hiring of O, but he’s really twisting history here to pat himself on the back.

I also like how he gives himself props for the other programs “yeah Dede was an OK coach but I made her great.” What an arse.

His lone mistake in his entire tenure? Oh getting bad advice on Wade (nice way to duck responsibility). Hiring Wade was not the mistake, grossly mishandling the whole ordeal and tanking our most promising season in a long time in the process is where you fricked up, stupid. He can’t even bring himself to somewhat admit fault.

Truly a guy that just doesn’t get it and never will.

That’s a stupid way to address a point I didn’t even make.

Firing Miles to hire Jimbo was a stupid idea because Miles is a better coach than Jimbo, and 95% of the geniuses here tried to crowdfund $16million to pull it off.

Those people are idiots.

He hired Will Wade and Ed Orgeron. frick that’s two decisions I would put that over giving Jimbo 75 million which is what our current AD did.

I forgot Woody is a board favorite though.

ETA More than half you dummies would have hired Jimbo or Herman in a heartbeat. Look how those two have been. A disaster.

None of us liked him and we can all agree that he was a clown. Even though he wanted Herman, he laid down all of his chips on O. And I’d say it was maybe half and half at best that agreed with the hire, (probably less than half actually approved though).

So far he’s been right and many of you were wrong so I have no problem with him crowing about it now.

Yeah, I mean who would want a NC winning coach that was known for developing QBs.

What he has done at A&M has no bearing on if he would've been a good hire for LSU back then, because we're not A&M. This is just prisoner of the moment crap.

On the surface, Fisher to LSU made a lot of sense. He was a former LSU assistant and was the team’s offensive coordinator when the Tigers won the national title over Notre Dame after the 2006 season before moving to Florida State.

Not surprised this was a yahoo sports writer. They are just full of suck.

So you think Les is a better coach than Jimbo, so it would have been stupid to fire Miles to try and bring in Jimbo. Ok.

So in 2015 and 2016 did you think O was a better coach than Miles as well?
