How did you get your post history from 8/20/11 to 9/12/18 to not exist?

Regrets? Alleva has a few as well. His biggest, he said candidly, was hiring Wade.

“I got some bad recommendations on that guy,” Alleva said, though he did not elaborate. “My perception on why I’m not the athletic director there is because some people used the situation with Wade.

Alleva was very awkward as the LSU AD, but he was spot on correct in his thoughts on Jimbo & Herman. Glad he's no longer the AD, but he deserves a lot of credit for all the success LSU is currently having in football.

Whatever. Joe was an incompetent buffoon. Those weren't his thoughts on Jimbo or Herman at the time. Those are the lies he told Rabalais with the benefit of hindsight. Everything out of his mouth is a lie.

The guy was a shite sack.

More than half you dummies would have hired Jimbo or Herman in a heartbeat. Look how those two have been. A disaster.

I don't get this rationale. Are TAMU or Texas programs the same as LSU? Did they inherit the same players? Do they have similar booster influence? There's too many differences for which to account to make it an apples to apples comparison.

We have absolutely no idea how Jimbo or Herman would've done at LSU, unless you somehow have access to an alternate universe where both are HCs at LSU.

“I still have a lot of friends in the ACC,” Alleva said

...sounds like an unnecessary shot
. . . . it also sounds like a lie.

No one I have ever discussed this with has a high opinion of Alleva.

Duke was glad to unload the POS on LSU.
I doubt you could pay DU to take him back.
So where these supposed ""friends"" are, I don't know.

The guy is a pariah in these parts.

I know neither could have possibly done better this year, up to this point.

That's good enough for me.

Tim Brando is on Paul Finebaum and is ripping Aleva calling his quote about never wanting Jimbo an absolute lie. Also said that Jimmy Sexton played Joe like a Stradivarius and Joe had to backtrack and retain Les. Sounds much more like the truth.

Thank you. I had not read that article

Interesting that he feels that way. He crossed Will and he didn’t realize how much support Will has here.

For whatever reason he and Alexander tried to undercut him and ironically, it cost both of them their jobs and Will is gonna be here for a long time.

""Thoughts"" first expressed 2 1/2 years AFTER THE FACT were spot on correct?

Well golly gee, kudos to JA.
Given similar ""thought"", Wolf Blitzer "knew" Trump would win the Presidency as soon as he rode the escalator down in Trump Tower.

For another perspective, let me give you an "Alleva thought" on what I predict the best winning Lotto number from 2018 will be.

Alleva has not been "spot on correct" in nearly any effort I'm aware of. The exception might be WW's hire, which Alleva now is exposing his stupidity over.

Jimbeaux’s rep as a head coach in the coaching profession is no discipline. His actions at Florida State prove this and I never wanted him as a head coach. My source on Jimbeaux and no I will not name him and I don’t care what the board thinks. He has coached in the sec, been a head coach in college, coaches in the NFL currently. Joe, I think is pissed because of all the heat he took from hiring a guy with discipline that loves LSU over considering a guy with neither.

I find the timing of this article very interesting. Why now? Why not at the beginning of the season or after the end of the last season? Maybe, just maybe beating Bama and getting to the National Championship has something to do with it. This is the same guy that jumped to conlusions with Will Wade not to mention what he did to the Duke Lacrosse team. I will never see him as the wise person this article tries to make him sound like. I dont throw darts at all hardly. Maybe once every two years. I still hit the bullseye at least once though. The Coach O hire was his bullseye amongst alot of stupidity.

My favorite part of this article is when he basically says, “yea I could have hired Herman but I was too cheap.” He’s admitting he made (what at the time looked to be) an objectively bad hiring decision purely to save a couple of bucks, and now he’s trying to walk it back like he’s a genius who always knew it would work out.

Alleva is such an a-hole. No matter how much spin he puts on it he will never convince me he knew what he was doing.

Well we know both Texas and Texas AM have vastly more $$ resources than LSU.

They are both larger schools with much larger alumni bases and in a state with a vastly better economy

Both are right in the middle of a great recruiting base.

Alleva snubbing his nose at Jimbo is like a turd doing the same to vomit. They both stink.

Alleva’s comments on Wade not being his guy but hiring him anyway proves what we all suspected, he’s spineless.
