Joe Alleva Report Card

Joe Alleva Report Card: D+
Football D - For his handling of Miles at end of Season. I wonder if Miles sent Joe an autographed picture of players carrying him off the field after A&M game.
Men's Basketball D - Did not expect this from a Duke AD
Women's Basketball D - Did not expect this from a Duke AD
Baseball C - The only major coach not in turmoil. Of course that could change within 2 weeks anytime this baseball season.

I'm not sure the bumbling of the Miles situation is 100% on aSleepa.
F King had his fingerprints all over that situation too.
aSleepa could have come out and said "Miles is our guy", which would have bought him some time, but it sounds like F King was pulling the strings on that one.
and if you think about basketball, Duke has been set with their men's basketball coach for years; so, aSleepa doesn't know how to hire one.
We messed up by not hiring Dan Radakovich.

I am confused. Baseball gets a C-....why? And if the team gets worse as the season goes by, Alleva's grade drops? Huh?

This season was a story not so much about Jones "failing as an X's and O's guy," but more about he failed to keep a team together as a team.

He totally lost me with the way he handled the Les Miles issue this past fall. IDC to get in a discussion about whether Miles should have been fired or retained, but the way Alleva handled that entire mess was just amateur hour.
Alexander should do the same to Alleva, keep him in limbo and hang him out to dry for 2 weeks and see how he likes it.

Alleva was trying to get replace a coach that half this board doesn't like with Jimbo Fisher. He was trying to do what most people said he should be doing and trying to make the program better before F. King went over his head. I don't think Les should have been fired but if he would have replaced him with Jimbo I would have been fine with it.
