People had high hopes for JJ after his sophomore season. His problem was he never got better. And probably got worse.

Brandon only had 12 TDs this year (thus far).

Jordan actually trended up toward the tail end of his soph year (09), and was fairly consistent throughout. after a really shitty UF game, he was pretty good to close the year. it was his junior year where the wheels fell off.

These stats mean nothing. The clear amount of dropped balls is not accounted for. JJ had this issue also but Harris has had more dropped passes this season. He has been unable to get into a rythm for the most part. Even Jennjngs suffered because of the amount of dropped passes.

JJ was solid his sophmore year. The problem was he didn't get much better and his terrible throwing mechanics attributed to that. JJ also got more snaps as a freshman. Harris has much better mechanics and a much higher ceiling.

Do the rushing. JJ had to be better in that too

I love our version of the read option where we don't actually read anyone and the quarterback never runs. It is like the "whose line is it anyway" of read options.

We want a dual threat guy for some reason then never run him. I don't fricking understand our coaching staff. Running is the best thing Harris does!

Agreed. Looking back, knowing what we know now, I feel bad for JJ.

Jesus H. Christ. This ordeal is worse than I thought. Sentiment for Jordan Jefferson is changing on the Rant? In other news, genetically altered pig makes its first flight.

actually he wasn't as a soph. Jordan took a ton of sacks in 09. he was much better as a runner his last couple yrs because the coaches put more of an emphasis on him running. but that's when his passing numbers went off a cliff (particularly in 2010).

He rarely even tries to run when no one is open.

I will play along

BH- 1904 yds 53.2% 12 TD 5 INT

Brandon Allen as a junior with more games
2285 yds 56.0% 20 TD 5 INT

He was much better his next year. So could go either way.

JJ>BH! I didn't think it would ever be possible.

All four QBs had remarkably similar numbers for their first year with 25+ passes in the SEC.

Jennings was the same way last year. I don't know why they wouldn't. If no one is open, fricking book it.

Terrance Tolliver had all the athletic ability in the world but went through stretches when he had stone hands.

If accurate, that's scary.
And keep in mind that JJ didn't have near the line or the RB support that Harris does. That said, I don't think most people with sense thought he was a bad sophomore (except for the sacks). He took a serious step back as a Junior right up until the end of the year, had a hell of a game against A&M in the Cotton Bowl, and then got suspended. He wasn't much of a factor after he returned from suspension except for saving the Bama game. Only LSU QB to lead the team over Bama once Saban got his program in place (Flynn beat them during Saban's first year) and he did it twice in a row. He was doing well in 09 before he got hurt during that game as well.

But dat 1/9 doe.

From Wiki

quote:

Jefferson threw for 4,733 yards and 34 touchdowns during his career. He ranks fifth for career wins by a starting quarterback at LSU with 24. He is fifth in LSU history in passing touchdowns (34) and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (12). He is sixth in LSU history in career passing yards (4,733), sixth in completion percentage (58.7), sixth in career completions (398), and sixth in attempts (678).

Jefferson holds the LSU record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,018 yards. However, Jefferson threw for less than 100 yards in 11 games, or 34% of all games he started.[7] Of those 11 games, LSU lost 3 games, and the back up quarterback replaced him in 3 other games that resulted in wins.

Not bad knowing what we know now.
