Which is why BH should have gotten meaningful snaps last year. Especially when we had a month to prepare for a meaningless bowl.
Harris could not get more snaps last year because Harris was injured last year.

It's not the snaps; it's the starts. Starts mean more practice reps and running with the ones. Starts mean more reps when the game is on the line, not garbage time. Jefferson got three starts in 2008. More importantly, he got all of the bowl preparation time. Harris got one start in 2014, and was not the starter for the bowl.

Didn't they say both shared first string snaps last year during game week practices?

So basically if you adjust JJ down 1 game based on averages, he would have had 81.5 more yards in the season, or the equivalent of one extra catch per game.

My biggest issue with JJ was his attitude.

I know Bowe had the dropsees but I can't remember another WR during JJs time that did.

Bowe was in the NFL before JJ played a snap at LSU

I didn't phrase it correctly, I remember Bowe had the dropsees, but as far as a WR during JJs time I couldn't recall.

People had high hopes for JJ after his sophomore season. His problem was Les Miles. And Miles keeps getting worse.

You're flat wrong, but it's an old issue.

They actually let JJ play like a mobile QB, he rolled out, had more designed keepers. Really wasn't that bad on the move. That pass to RR against Bama in 2010 was a thing of beauty. BH rarely hits his WRs in stride like that.

JJ also got more snaps as a freshman. Harris has much better mechanics and a much higher ceiling.

With this simple offense which probably has complex verbage (go figure) we shouldn't be in the position of having freshman and sophomores on the field.

I've said it from the beginning, qbs have regressed every year they're in the offense. I truly believe our coaches do not teach qbs to make progressions, it's usually WR1, and then a check down or tuck and run. Look at Jeffersons stats his freshman year. After we beat GT, people thought he was the future. No qb has gotten significantly better at LSU, no matter the coordinator. JaMarcus may have been the only exception. Needs to be a change in philosophy, it's not the players we get in here

JJ had a lot of promise that sophomore year, but he went to shite the next year and never recovered

2009 was his peak. i have faith 2015 is not harris's peak

I don't know what it is about Jefferson that people take personally, but he would run circles around Harris right now, sorry. Go watch the film and look at the numbers.

bullshite!
Lee had one down year in 2009. Jefferson had one down year in 2010.
Other than those one down years, QBs recruited by Miles have improved year over year.

Figured there would be someone throw some numbers at me. Maybe I should have excluded the "numbers" out of my statements. So do these qb ratings and completion % take in account turnovers by fumbles, or times sacked? Watch the film. Mettenberger had the weapons to win the Heisman..a lot of his throws were 1 on 1 to OBJ or Juice and 90% of the time, they would make a play. Go back. Look at the film and watch his progressions. Held the ball way too long, as did Jefferson. Go back and look how confident he was as a freshman, and how quickly he'd tuck the ball and run compared to his senior year when he held it too long. They tried to turn him into a pocket passer and that's not him. Instead of trying to build the quarterback to fit into the offense, we need to build the offense to fit the quarterback. Btw, don't ever throw those bs numbers at me again, looking at that, you'd actually think Miles could develop a qb.
