I would bet a lot of money that car is leased

Me too. Might have even gone as far as leasing the aftermarket wheels.

It's not about being broke in 5 years. It's 20 years down the line when he's down to little or no income and has to depend on his career earnings to last him.

Could have easily bought a 60k Lexus or Mercedes and called it a day.

Next step: hire a sober, professional chauffeur to drive him around in that thing on the nights he's been out drinking. Unfortunately, in fast cars, speed kills.

NFL used to offer it to all the players, but the players were worried that they were being spied on.

So now the NFLPA offers several free services like this in order to prevent drunk driving.

You don't buy this car to be driven around in.

The only thing financially worse than buying a car like that is leasing a car like that.

There was an ad down here in S Florida to rent one for $799 a month, thats not too bad of a nut to crack!!

When you do not even know how to wear a hat you should not be allowed a drivers license let alone a Maserati.

Yes there is a lot of truth about athletes going bankrupt because of purchases like this. Hope JH is not one of the extended list

So it's the extra $50k that's bothering people? Getting a contract like that and buying a car like that is not that bad. Now if he buys several cars and a ridiculous home, he may be in some trouble.

Most people purchase cars that are well over 33% of their yearly income. Not uncommon for someone making $50,000 and buying a $20,000+ vehicle.

Most people on average have an income that lasts longer than 3 years.

Its a dumb purchase no matter how you try and spin it

I'd say 0% of athletes have ever gone broke because of the 1st car they bought.
