No empirical data to support that suggestion except Alan Iverson, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, John Daly, Lenny Dykstra, Antoine Walker, Latrell Spreewell (I got a family to feed that $21 million won't cover), Scottie Pippen, Tiki Barber, JaMarcus Russell, Marc Brunnell, Chris McAlister, Deuce McAllister and T.O.

I just posted this because I remember the fuss over Jarvis' Audi which was much less that 100k lol. I know he's gonna make less J Hill but I mean thats what happens when u go from a checking account with 150 dollars to one with 800k after the signing bonus. (dont troll me if they dont get that all at once).

that car is about 1/3 of his entire year's paycheck after taxes. so yeah, pretty stupid purchase. but it's his money, not mine

Wut? People buy $30,000 cars all the time that make less than 6 figures and seem to make it work.

How much did your car cost?

I mean I want the best for Jeremy. But he just bought a "frick you" car and he really isn't anywhere close to having "frick you" money.

Running backs don't have the longest of careers and an injury can derail that in a hurry as well. Just don't want to see him end up broke. But yea I'll go ahead and let that man live.

I hope he rocks it and that is one of many he has by the time of retirement. He's making a lot more than me. Floyd Mayweather flaunts his funds more than any athlete and he keeps getting richer (he also has the ability to generate north of 60MM per year). The data suggests that it won't work out, though.

they also aren't in professions where your shelf life is as short as it is in football. jeremy hill is buying a car based on the assumption he's going to be making a whole lot more on his second contract. odds of running back cashing in on that are not weighted in his favor. people who buy 30k cars making less than 6 figures also tend to keep those cars for awhile and it's their only car. i have my doubts hill is keeping that car until it craps out an also doubt that's going to be his only vehicle.

The only thing financially worse than buying a car like that is leasing a car like that.

considering theres a huge chance he makes more in his "short" 3-10 nfl career than an average working man makes in his 40 year career, ima let this man do his thing. While there is a thin line between staying sane with your money and completely blowing it all. Prove em wrong J Hill!

That he'll be broke in 10.

Nah, I wish the kid the best. Looks like a silly-arse purchase on its face, but who the hell am I to judge?
