And I think two of them thought the ball was going to Landry looking at that gif. They were still running after him to chase him down when the ball was released.

was obvious he was locked in from the snap.

Not really. Just because a play calls for a primary target doesn't mean a QB can't steer a cb or safety another direction with his eyes. That gif does tell us definitively one way or the other.

Landry was underneath Dural in the same line of sight. Arkansas CB obviously thought he was looking at Landry.

All of this is awesome commentary.

quote:

If there was a double move, the corner didn't see it. Landry coming across is what made the corner stop for an instant.

quote:

He was reading one side of the field. Safety and corner went after Landry, he threw it over their heads.

quote:

Great job by Jennings to make the throw. Great job by Dural to make the play.

But this play was about:

1- Cam realizing before hand that this play was going to be open (I'm sure he didn't even expect it to be that open). Great coach making a huge difference

2- Landry being an absolute beast and having the entire secondary worried about him busting free (even the ones who were supposed to be guarding Dural).

quote:

you can't see shite on that gif, from the live replay during the game you can clearly see him check Landry before going back to Dural...

Makes it even sweeter seeing how Cam analyzed the D and put Jennings in a place to succeed. And the kid came through.

The more I read the analysis of what happened the more I love Cam and respect Jennings for pulling the trigger in a pressure situation and making it happen. Masterful.

This, or if he wasn't checking landry he was looking straight downfield reading the safety. Then turns to Dural.

There was that 1-2 seconds when I was watching the ball drop down and my heart fluttered and I was thinking "YOU BETTER NOT DROP THAT!"

A crazier thought is that #3 not being on the field may have actually helped us on that final play. As many of you pointed out, the route that #80 ran was deliberately set up to draw in the coverage and let #83 run free. If OBJ is in the Arky D would have been forced to play a less aggressive zone on that one play and possibly stopped the deep route.

Sorry. I am still pumped after watching that play.

It was a perfect pass in stride also..... Even if the guy had not bit I think he would of caught it in stride for a big gain. Awesome play call and timing. Imagine if Jennings develops a killer pump fake?? I think he's going to be a very good QB for 2 or 3 years and BH for 2! Future is bright with Cam at the helm!!! It's exactly why I can't understand the LA recruits especially on offense not coming here??? I just don't get it?? Cam R made a big mistake IMO. Oh well......

I actually think Landry might have been primary. If not, AJ clearly checked down to Landry who was not open. I think there is another replay that shows it. The CB bit so bad that Dural was open by at least 10 yards. There was no safety help at all. It was a total breakdown in coverage. It reminded me of Malleveto.

Look at the gif. From the snap he is looking left at Dural.

Landry is left too for what it is worth.

But that play was all dural.

The CB bit in the underneath route assuming we were going for the 1st with our go to guy. (who was open BTW)

Jennings probably reads the play before the snap and knows he's got Dural 1-on-1 on the outside. This play was $$$ before the snap.

Les mentione in the post-game that other teams haven't figured out how fast Dural is yet.

Yeh, I definitely noticed his head look at jarvis just long enough to pull the DB off of Dural.

Really no need to look elsewhere when you see the possible 1v1 matchup with a double moved call. If ran right that's going to be a TD or PI every time with that speed.

Jennings definitely looked underneath to throw the corner off, I remember making a mental note of how impressive it was.
