If there hasn't really been a competition to this point, why would he think there would be in the future?

I mean, he was getting all of the first team snaps heading into the bowl.

If he is spending as much time in the film room as people says he does, how can he sanely make this conclusion? What does he see when he goes back and watch his performances? I really hope for once be a man of his word this spring and let it be a true competition, because this season was rigged to get Jennings to be the starter and look how it turned out.

If there would be any truth in that statement.

This should come as no surprise to anyone. Miles has been saying all season long that we tried to find an opportunity to put Harris in, but couldn't. Jennings will be the starter because most likely Harris will go Juco. Good luck Mr. Harris, I hardly knew you.

I think this is it as well. The troubling part here, is that hopefully he isn't really beginning to believe he is better than what his stats show. It SEEMS to me, I could be wrong, but it seems to me he is saying we don't know what we are talking about, and that he has earned the right to be the starting qb at LSU, and screw us for wanting someone else. Again, that's the way it comes off to me. If I were in his shoes, I'd show some humility, and acknowledge that my play was well below par of what was needed, and at least throw out how I'm going to do everything possible to improve my performance...etc........Not, "I'm the starter".

Jennings trying to be confident, just like after the bowl game against Iowa he tweeted he wanted everyone to doubt him so that he can work hard and prove his doubters wrong. Even Miles said in press conference that they need much better play at the QB position, and the competition is back open. Harris has his chance now to get bigger, smarter, more mature, and polished as a QB. The job is there for the taking if he dedicates himself.

Hopefully, Harris will do what it takes to be the QB. Also Miles and Cameron must handle the QB position much better than they did this season and motivate both QBs better. I just hope the QB competition is fair, something not always the case with Miles.

Finally, Jennings needs to get a dose of reality about his performance.

This is some hypocritical bullshite if I've ever seen it. We want to flay Harris for not being happy while Jennings is taking dumps all over the field, "He needs to grow up and mature" etc etc. Half this thread is applauding Jennings confidence now?

You know what would really be impressive? Admitting he was terrible this year and vowing to put a better offense on the field in 2015. That's an attitude I could support.

Harris should see the writing on the wall come Spring practice. I honestly wouldn't blame him for bouncing if it's looking like a 2014 repeat. He already knows that terrible QB play from Jennings isn't enough to even get a real chance.

Our first game was on August 30 and our last game was on December 30. Did AJ make any improvement over that period of time? I think we can all say that he did not.

Does anyone believe he will improve over the next 9 months? I think most of us don't see his play improving. Thus if he is starting next season I don't see how we can have a better season than we just had.

If Miles goes with AJ and we don't win at least 10 games during the regular season (that's a 2 win improvement) then he should be fired.

I like AJ but I just don't think he has it. Other schools lose QBs and they don't seem to miss a beat. Yet somehow we have our worst starter at the most important position on the field.

This crap is embarrassing and has to end.

I'm wondering how many people actually read the article. Jennings said what many of you think he should have said.

quote:

"We want to go onto spring and summer workouts as quickly as possible," Jennings said. "I got better in a lot of ways (this season). Obviously, I still have things to work on. It's just a process. I just have to get better all-around."

I pay waaaay to much money on LSU football to watch Jennings for another season. I'm not seeing any ROI. Why would Tyron want to come here if Jennings is still involved? Malachi looks to be at a breaking point.

I really wish I stumble upon some one on one time w Miles this offseason. He needs to see the light.

Anthony Jennings will be the starting QB when we take the field against McNeese. Les will have a want to provide Harris with playing time but circumstances will not properly present themselves to allow that to happen.

And so it goes.
