When has he gotten the ball in open space?

He has had a few drops. He will be a good one, but he's a freshman, and it's not like at this point Jennings has an All SEC receiver he's overlooking in Quinn.

Jennings is thinking pass rush first and that is his problem. He is so uncomfortable in the pocket it is not funny. I would roll him out, out the shot gun on every play.

. They aren't asking him to scan the field the way Mett did.

Our third leading receiver had like 10 catches last year, it isn't like Mett threw it to tons of diff guys.

I am not comparing Jennings to Mett. We have more diverse weapons this year and are doing nothing with them, that part I agree.

Would liked to have seen Rettig develop his passing skills under Cameron, but alas, he was run off for having too slow of a foot response.
This the second time today (different threads) I have seen you reply to posts with the statement of Rettig being asked to leave the program due to his lack of foot speed. Do you have proof of this or is just the "I hate Les Miles sydrome"?

that's because Jennings is to elementary minded to check down or go through progressions . he knows one receiver , snap the ball and look at 83 dural

He has had two drops. Is he alone in this category? No. Not sure why some harp on this. Can we end this thread now?

Jennings has one length pass...the go route down the sideline to Dural. He has nothing else he does well as a throwing QB, including and especially anything that requires field vision, like seeing the middle of the field and/or intermediate passes (unless it is the intended receiver and he has great protection and the receiver is wide open).

He is a wonderful young man, and a decent runner, but is a horrible throwing QB aside from his one ability, which good SEC defenses will be amply prepared to defend.

Quinn is completely underrated. Kid is a gold mine. I have been saying the same thing all season.

If I have to hear one more person in the crowd scream about how open Quinn is every play..

He's not open every play. He has dropped a few balls this year too. Jennings is under pressure a lot, and he's rolling out a lot of the times that Quinn is open. Those are hard throws. Jennings doesn't force throws.

He's a good player. And Jennings has missed him a handful of times this season.

But that's it.

I respectfully disagree, sir. I have watched this kid grow up. He has great hands. Yes, he has had a few drops but often, when he gets a pass over the middle, it is thrown behind him.... on his hip... etc. His routes are great. He throws a great block. He has great hands. He needs to be noticed. Dural drops them. He is a great receiver. Quinn has as much or more potential than almost anyone of our receivers.

BayouBengals03......I counted 13 plays in a row against Kentucky alone that this Quinn kid was all alone over the middle....Completely abandoned by the defense....with AJ in the pocket looking around.....He just cant see center field. His target to catch ratio is 80%....plain and simple he is under utilized....Ill say it now if Trey Quinn is not targeted at least 7 times against Ole Miss we will lose. Dural will draw double press because we have proven that is all we can do. Quinn will again be sliding thru the middle with single coverage or in a soft zone as a prime target....you have to exploit that.

Jennings needs to develop his vision and fast if we want to have a chance. He looked so poised and able to scan against Arky last year.

In all of what? 4 plays?

Trey Quinn

Just think, he could've had 3 years with Deshaun Watson instead of the tire fire that is our qb situation.

Please don't go Trey Quinn

I mean let's be honest here, that thought must have crossed his mind multiple times since the season started.

But I heard he grew up a diehard LSU fan so I guess he isn't that remorseful.

Hell, Florida didn't even cover the slot WR on several plays, just left him open.

i've noticed in the last few games, the safety's shift to the outside to help the corners, leaving the middle of the field open for the most part. it's either that or they walk up to the line in obvious running situations.

Well one thing's for damn sure we'll have to pass the ball plenty and well Saturday. This isn't some circlejerk rantard opinion about playcalling, this is realizing running the ball against Ole Miss's front 7 is a bad idea

Yup. It will be similiar to MSU, with a stout front 7 who you can't really run on.

So just like that game, Miles will assuredly go at their secondary early and often.

One play against UK, the UK defense must have had a miscommunication and Dural was uncovered when they lined up. All AJ had to do was snap, throw a quick pass to Dural and it would have been 6 easy. I really don't think AJ is allowed to audible.
