And I would say Jefferson's sacks, particularly against Ole Miss, and inaccuracy and hesitancy have certainly directly contributed to losses.

Virtually all of his shaky moments came after he had that hurt wheel and couldn't run.

That's where his hesitancy came from. I don't think we saw the real JJ for much of last season. That's like saying if Vince Young all of a sudden hurt his ankle and couldn't run that you'd expect him to just turn into Tom Brady. Not gonna happen.

I dont think it really matters between JJ and JL.

I think we are in the worst QB spot we have been in years.

Both have the talent. Its leadership and consistency thats missing.

I just dont see happening with either of these two. I hope I am wrong.

This is why I hate coming on here. Jarret Lee is a sham and his name and starting qb should never be in the same breath again. Ever. GTFO with this shite... Unreal.

Then you shouldnt have a want for JJ to lead this team. He was putrid today

This is patently absurd. Jefferson isn't nearly the mobile quarterback as Young. He's just not very good man. He's inaccurate and has horrible pocket presence. His scrambling mostly results in throwaways to the sidelines.

His foot was fine today and he looked even worse than last year.

I'm not saying Lee is the answer, but I think he's clearly a better QB than Jefferson from everything I've seen.

LSU doesn't have an SEC Championship caliber quarterback IMO. Hopefully Jefferson will turn out like Jason Campbell and have a great senior season.

It was just one scrimmage. But on the field today JL was far superior, in performance and leadership. He should get a chance to compete.

On the pick-six, JL was the least responsible. First, the play call deep in your own end of the field. Second, Barksdale barely laid a finger on Edwards who was in JL's face as he threw. Third, RR let the ball go through his hands. Last, but probably most important was Loston's great read and break on the ball. Any QB would have been picked under these conditions.

Even though some of us criticize Miles, you gotta feel sorry for the guy. He has no real QB to go to. What Miles may want to do is get on Chavis's arse and get that identity back of the defense we are accustomed to seeing.

I think we are putting too much stock into our QB situation. We just need a strong running game and a fierce defense. Trust me, if this happens, we will get there

The La Tech game showed me all I needed to know how much JL "progressed" his sophomore season. He really could've seized that moment and taken the starting job for himself against a weaker Tech team, and he didn't.
Unless he had some miraculous revival, I'd count on much of the same.

Did that against an inferior opponent with their backup secondary and couldn't get the job done. Sorry the guy doesn't have it between the ears. Stick a fork in him. Let Garrett get more snaps that way when both of these juniors are done we aren't once again stuck with a QB with 0 experience.

We are well and truly screwed when our great hope was 10-20 with one TD and one pick for a TD for the other team.

And that may well be our best hope.
