Didn’t mauck leave before Jamarcus arrived?
Did he mean Flynn

No. He and Flynn were RS freshmen and on the sidelines during the 03 title season. Mauck started and Randall was the backup

But could he do it if he had to learn it from a playbook?

Jamarcus was the best QB in CFB on the best team in CFB in 2006

So yea, people that shite on him are deeply misguided. But this board hated him at the time too, the amount of Flynn>Russell takes was mind numbing.

Jamarcus has to be accountable for his part in his NFL career. That said, I knew when he was drafted that Raiders squad was probably the worst situation he could have been drafted into. He needed mentorship and that was not going to happen there.

Yes but in most every instance where the entire year and possible National Championship is on the line, he choked. Oh he won his fair share, not the ones that truly mattered.

J-Rock was a great quarterback for us and should be celebrated as the great tiger he is. Led a lot of come from behind drives to win games.

yeah, I'm calling bullshite on that. even in competitions the furthest anyone has thrown is something like 80 yards.

When I was in 3rd grade my dad worked for Dun & Bradstreet as a credit risk analyst. He and Roger Staubach were business friends. Staubach was a hell of a QB but he was an even better businessman. The NFL was different then. During mid season on certain days Dallas would allow some people in to watch practice. I saw WR Drew Pearson throw a football from one end zone to another. Staubach being a fierce competitor that he was probably could only throw it 65 yards at best but his greatest attribute was accuracy, ability to scramble, and was a natural born leader. It pissed Staubach off he couldn’t chunk that ball as far as his WR but without doubt I’ve seen it done. Now when I’ve watched those NFL QB throwing competitions you are 100% correct because most NFL QBs do good to hit that 75 yard mark.

Listening to him talk, there’s no way he was able to complete college classes.

There was some ghetto article that I started reading and couldn't stop reading of him. Half of it was in ebonics. His fall from grace was sad, but it made sense coming from him. It's a shame he couldn't conquer it and become more. He settled.

Hodson was good... But he was not better than Russell. Wasn't old enough to see Bert Jones.

You think Jamarcus was better than Bert Jones!

I like Jarnarcus a lot and he was good but no he was not top 5 LSU QB but top 10 for sure.

if that was doable, let alone by a WR, it would have been on a very clear and obviously unedited video by now.

but it’s not.

meaning a 100 yard+ (in air) pass just ain’t happening.

Statistics says otherwise. He's 4th in passing yards in LSU history and 3rd in tds. He is also 3rd in single season yards behind Burrow and Rohan.

When evaluations are made, should the coaches and Receivers be part of the comparison.
Three of Jr's receivers were early draft choices and a couple had NFL careers.

Nelson Stokley was a better QB than Pat Screens.

Herb always had Larry Foster that he could depend on the deep out they always used to run. Seems like Foster made miraculous catches on that deep out and that 50 corner route they’d run

you’re freaking out of your mind. Hodson was a flat out leader and boss in the pockets. Russell had 3 First round draft pick receivers in the one good year he had. It is really simple. He had WAY more talent to work with and Fisher when he didn’t suck so much as a play caller.
