What game does that have him coming back at?
If he only misses 4 weeks, he'll only miss McNeese and MSU and will be back for Auburn. Wouldn't be so terrible if it turns out that way. Worst case, he's out until Eastern Michigan or USCe.

Could Xavier Lewis step in as well or is he CB?

Son of a..
It's a bigger loss than people seem to be making it out to be.
But I guess it's about the best we could hope for.
4-6 weeks from now? or 4-6 game weeks?
I hope to God it's the only injury! I just want one year where no one is kicked off the team and injuries don't kill us.

Jefferson is a great player, not worried about the defense.
Jefferson is good but he doesn't have the coverage skills that Mills has. I'll say it again, not having Mills out there is a big blow to the defense.

Minimal drop off between mills and Jefferson. Why freak out?

I say he's healthy by Florida for sure.

This is good news compared to what the earlier rumor was

Yep, don't know how bad he broke it, but it isn't a weight bearing bone, and just needs to get a good union, and not hurt...ie, will be back, just need to get through the month of Sept with someone else stepping up...

Mills wasn't the best in coverage either, if you want to nitpick. Not tying to be negative towards mills, he's really good at safety. They moved him away from corner because of coverage liabilities.

Move Rambo to FS and put Dwayne Thomas at nickel. We'll have a fresh FS for the latter part of the season.

Not having him for AU is big...if that ends up being the case.
They run nothing but misdirection shite...having Safteys in the right place and know what's going on is key to stopping it. Veteran Safteys are a must to help minimize mistakes. I don't think people realize how bad we need him for that particular game.

Not good, hopefully he only misses McNeese. 6 weeks out takes him past Auburn. Jefferson is an excellent player and should do well. Thomas, Thompson, and maybe X Lewis can contribute as well. Edit to say at least it isn't a front 7 starter.

Exactly relax people, Jefferson, Thompson, Paris, Lewis, all these guys can play safety crap even Tolliver could step back there with his speed, range and physicality.

He's essentially the captain of the defense right? Between him and beckwith. Mills is the leader...

Moreso than his pure skill, he was trusted to get everyone on D in the right position and to make the right calls
Big loss
Big loss
