Is this the quietest one of the best LSU teams ever?

They basically have the same record as 2013 but that team had a million times more buzz to it during the season. What's the difference?

the 2013 team had a lot of likable players like katz, rhymes, edward, bourgois, and cotton. not saying this one doesnt but 2013 was filled with so many guys who had been there forever while this team is filled with mainly fr-soph with a couple of jr's and sr's. and even there the seniors besides sciambra and foster are juco guys

probably because we don't have only 2 players that can carry this team. every player we put on the field can have a great day.

The 2013 team was full of seniors on a mission after they felt like they were snubbed and got beat by a vastly inferior Stony Brook team.

Raph Rhymes and Mason Katz got a lot of attention and deservedly so. Nola was an incredible pitcher. Bregman, Jacoby were solid players that year. This team just seems to be more balanced overall. With the way the last three years have ended, I think the fans are just not setting themselves up for a huge let down again.

I agree, I think the fans are just holding back because of the way things have ended the last 2 seasons.

I tend to agree that the fans are cautiously optimistic.

LSU fans were beyond spoiled in the 90s and the benefactor of much less parity. These recent upsets seem to have shaken up the fans, but it's pretty common in college baseball (ask Florida State)

I think not having a true Sunday starter doesn't help with anything. Then you add the fact we haven't gotten to see much of Deichman and any of Latz, arguably our two most hyped recruits in our most hyped class maybe ever...maybe a "what could have been" feel on that end, at least for me. Now we still have a great shot at a national title of course. I just wish we could have had Latz and Deichman 100% from day 1

Ummm what?

Before Foster went full retard, 8 of our 9 everyday starters in the lineup were either juniors or seniors.

Hell, even with Zardon at 2B now, that's still 7 everyday guys who likely won't be back at LSU next season.

I can't speak for all fans but I expected this team to be good, but had no big expectations of a national championship.

I watch them and they just keep winning and winning....but I haven't adjusted my expectations I guess.

If we can get by Houston and Stony Brook, I might get excited.

The gymnastics team had the greatest season of any lsu athletic team of all time, and they didn't have any hardware to show for it. In fact, they had an embarrassing flop job at the end.

Has any team ever had 3 players on the golden spikes watch list?

2013 team was better, that team was ridiculous I think we had 23 wins in the SEC that year.

that was also a return to glory a-little bit that year, we had bad years 2010 2011, decent year 2012 and great year 2013. The success this year is not unexpected.

Top to bottom this team is better than the 2013 team. I see 2009 team talent here.

Some people just don't know shite about baseball. Stony Brook was a very good team. They had a bunch of high draft picks. Just because they are not a traditional power doesn't mean they were not good. That was a good team

This team doesn't have a guaranteed-win ace on this roster like Nola.

Lange is good, but Nola was special.
