This is the most special place in all of Louisiana. There are games won in Tiger Stadium wothout any explanation but, It is Tiger Stadium at night. Just like on Halloween Night in 1959 and then againg on Halloween Night in 1972. Those two nights three young men became household names from that time in history. The young were Billy Cannon, Burt Jones and Brad Davis. LSU beat Ole Miss in '59 7-0 and in '72 LSU won 17-16.

I dont think the drinking part is as big of an influence as everyone thinks.
BS...ban alcohol on campus and LSU football tickets would be readily available.

Why would you say such a thing even in jest?

What separates the occasion from other college football venues?

I think I could be the only Tiger fan who likes an Afternoon game better
i'm with you...night games are overrated as hell...the only reason I like them is because you can watch the rest of the games during the day...

To me, night games aren't as much specifically about drinking as just the anticipation. You drink more, but you also talk more, meet more people, watch other games more, and just get overall more excited. I get butterflies at night games that I normally wouldn't get at day games because there's not enough time to build that energy up. Anyway, for me, it's the anticipation that makes night games special.
And they're not so fricking hot.

It is unthinkable to me how any fans would prefer day games.
night games are awesome. day games suck. morning games suck worse.

Night games there's just something special about it, not sure what it is.. but it is a beautiful thing.

I would definitely tend to agree with this..I've never drank BEFORE an LSU game in my life and I hate crowds so I usually dont get to campus until an hour and a half before gametime anyway...but that knot in your stomach that grows through the day of a big game against Auburn and more recently the Primetime series with UF is pretty special. I guess I say the night games are overrated is because usually when we are playing in the afternoon, its a bigger game for us and I'm pretty hyped up anyway.

Everybody always says it is a drinking thing but I think it is more because of the heat. It is much harder to get into games when it is hot as hell. The crowd is too busy fanning themselves instead of screaming when they are baking in 95 degree weather.

there is nothing like a BIG night game in tiger stadium....i was at ole miss in 1972 and usc in 1979....when you have a night like that, then you understand....

UF 07 was pretty special...probably the 3rd greatest game I've gone to behind UGA 03 and UT SEC titlegame in 01. All of these were better pure experiences than the 2 NC games to me.

I imagine day games being comparable to sittin at a major league baseball game at noon on a schoolday eatin peanuts. Its all good, but its kinda bland.
Night games in Tiger Stadium feel special. Its like there's nothing else in the world you would rather be doing.

That UT SEC title game in 01 was a hell of a lot of fun. We were so outnumbered but loud as hell. What didn't you like about the 2003 National Championship game? Was pretty electric in that Dome.

I loved the 03 game there was just so much BS surrounding that game with OU getting roasted in the prior game and the polls and stuff. Same with 07 with both teams being so flawed. Dont get me wrong...I was in the front row in the endzone off the field in 03 and it was incredible... but I did not experience the same complete bliss that the 01 SEC game, the UF game (I fricking hate them) in 07, and the 03 UGA game provided.

after the sun goes down, the humidity in TIGER STADIUM goes up from ten to fifteen percent, the noise level increases equally, and the crowd gets restless
