Saban built a whole fricking national championship team from scratch in three years

Whoa big fella. Slow down. Remember he took over a program that was only 1 year removed from a 10 or 11 win season. He has done an amazing job at Alabam but its not like he started with nothing. In fact, he probably took over a better situation at Bama than he did when taking over LSU.

Is this a rhetorical question? A quick comparison to Saban's run and 07 LSU.

Bama: Two blocked FG to seal a win, late drive to beat AU, LSU led the way in the 4th with a really really bad O against a really really good Bama D, Texas loses McCoy early just before putting 14 on Bama early and still almost pulls out a win with a Frosh QB.

07 LSU: Beats AU as time expires, beats FLA driving the ball down thier throats on 4th downs, loses to kentucky in OT, Loses to ARK in OT (these two ot losses being the difference makers), beating the brakes off OSU in the NCG, Beating Tenn with a backup QB

You see that either of these two coaches were really close to having things not go there way on a NC run. LSU this season is 23 points from a perfect record(based on a 23 point defict in the 4 losses) Lets not forget the Saban loss at ULM, 2 years removed from a 10-2 record. Saban had the talent when he got there, no excuses. Saban(who is reguarded as a coaching genius) also has his embarrassing moments, remember the lack luster season after the 03 NC. Miles on the other hand(who is considered a mediocre coach at best) is now forever overshadowed for his performance which is not much different from our previous coach.

Oh, Les is 1-3 against Nick. One win, one ot loss, and one helluva close one against the 09 Champs. Saban may be better, only slightly as far as i can see without my goggles on.
