hated? I dont know about that but the most talked about and criticized for what he does but hell he wins. He is a awesome recruiter that constantly has a stable of atheletes that can make his risks work. That is worth to me based on his results and the character he shows. im behind Les Miles ill take everyday of the week. He is not perfect but he is a winner his players play their arse off for him and overcome most of his dumb or risky or whatever risks. He lets em loose. I have never seen a coach pull the shite he has pulled and it works most of the time. Plus he is loyal and stuck with us when he could of left twice but he stayed. I can live with his flaws for now. Lets see how he handles the offense, QB situation and how kragthorpe works out. But Les is the man in my book.

I'd say Gene Chizik.......Can't think of too many people who like AU or him (outside of AU).

Hate?????
People think he's quirky, but I couldn't ask for a better coach. His methods may be odd and he has had 2 clock blunders, but all he has done at LSU is win.

I don't know if this one or that thread about Les being on TV too much is the worst of the week/month. What a terrible topic and even worse poster. You're an absolute moron buddy.

Everybody likes Les. My money would go on Gene Chizick. He is hated, thought of as a cheater and as of sec media day disingenuous. Plus a yr after winning a NC there isn't all that much talk about him and his ability to coach because his OC gets most of that credit. I don't agree with all of these different assessments of him but it sure seems to be the perception of him. I heard ESPN radio guys on Sat morning talking about how disingenuous he sounded they even said they thought he had probably pushed the rules somewhat.

Saban is much more hated than Les Miles (and I'm not referring to LSU fans).

So is that sweater vest dude.

I honestly cannot think of anyone who is more hated than Les Miles that has won a championship. I am fairly young (23) so I obviously don't have an extensive recollection of past winners much beyond 1998. Along those same lines is there another program in the country that hates their coach as much as LSU?
After the Bama game last year? Seriously?

Les earned major cred with LSU fans. Hard to believe someone would overlook that. FYI there's likely a perfect job awaiting you at ESPN

No, but I guarantee that with the talent we had in '06 Saban would have won he championship that year.

A very bold statement there.

I agree with this. Saban is a great coach but he is hated around the country[Outside of tusc] more than any other coach. I as well as others respect him but as far as being hated, he is by far teh most.

As if ESPN knows what they are talking about; would never believe what they say.

Topic fail.

Change your subject line to most disrespected or most annoying and you might have a good thread. Les is far from the most hated, but he annnoys the shite out of people with his quirky ways, and he gets disrespected as a result. He wins, but he does it in an unconventional style and he appears to not be in control of game day situations, so people think he's a dumbass.

I actually believe that if Saban was in that situation with the hurricane and no weeks off, he would have folded under pressure. Miles handled that situation perfectly. Our players were under alot of pressure and needed a coach like Miles. Saban would have made the situation much worst.

Totally agree. Saban would likely have been focusing on "the process" and trying to drive the team like nothing had happened. And then would have gotten pissed at everyone as things began to crumble. I don't know if the situation could have been handled any better than Miles handled it.

Les is far from being hated but, he may very well go down in history as the luckiest head coach ever.
