I guess you're focusing solely on the passing game. The offense did some different things against Texas A&M, and rushed for 384 yards.

That's the most Rushing Yards for LSU in a game since 1997 (400 Yards Rushing vs. Kentucky).

I think I just value winning games more than most of you guys.
A win vs ND is always a good thing.

We tried to weather the storm in a rebuilding year on offense. We won't have first year starters at every single skill position next year. We will be better.

5 yards a carry while moving down the field isn't a "heaping pile of shite on offense"
It is if the QB still looks inept and gives you no further hope that the team can move the ball short of facing a shitty defense.

Well boys I am SUPER excited about the game. I hope LSU stomps a mud hole in ND arse, just so I can see Lou Holtz cry like a bitch. They may want to put some Rain-x on the camera lens so the spit will run off. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!! :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

Looking back , this season was ok. 4 losses against the best division in all of college football .

Look at OU and Texas. Look how bad the season went for UF and USCe . Michigan looking for another coach. Notte Dame dropping 5 out if their last six games.

How about Oklahoma State having a rough year. Tennessee fans still looking for another upswing in their program. Mark Ricth at Georgia dropping games.

And LSU rebuilding at QB and still won eight games. Not too bad all things considered. I like this matchup with Notre Dame. Not a program we play that often.

A chance for a nine win season. Things could be worse.

Don't you dare find positives in this season. That is absolutely not allowed here.

It's a shame that some of you cannot enjoy LSU football.

I just can't imagine being so cynical that I could not enjoy going to LSU games and watching the school that I love compete for the final time this season.

If this is how so many of you treat something so lighthearted as College Football, I can't imagine how shitty the important things in your life are.

See, I don't mind a fullback. But, why not use one like Bama uses one or Green Bay? You know....a guy who can actually run AND catch in addition to blocking. Pretty much a shorter tight end.

Melvin Jones kind of fits the bill.

Yeah, I think Melvin Jones can be a great FB. He's got the size and skill to excel in all phases.

I know many people here would like to see less of the fullback. I agree, to a degree. I think there is still a place for the fullback in college football. And with more defenses changing their personnel to combat Spread Offenses, that creates physical mismatches that fullbacks can take advantage of in the running game. But at the same time, I'd like to see more spread formations mixed in, and also more variety with how the fullback is used to throw the D off at times. Perhaps some counter plays like the 49ers run frequently - Anatomy of a Play - or maybe adjusting the blocking assignments sometimes so that the fullback is picking up a backside defender instead of leading the play -- things that break tendencies and reduce predictability.

A game against a program like ND is never a bad thing. We will get to watch Fournette go for the freshman rushing record (which I think he gets). That's a big deal. The offense will show some new wrinkles. It won't be flashy, but it will get the job done. Plus, our defense is turning down right nasty. If we convince those few upper classmen to give it one more shot, next year is looking REALLY good for the Tigers.

2000-------See Rohan Davey and the UT game. Pretty fricking exciting. ALso, the GT game was awesome too. There were flashes of potential. 2014 had exactly ZERO flashes of future potential.

2002-------This offense was coming into its own before injury to Mauck. (36-7 over UF) I don't recall an injury this year for 2014 to excuse this shite.

2004-------Not even close to the same as this year. Randall and JR made their mistakes, but they still had some good games. They threw for 201.8 per game as opposed to 163.9 per game in a much less "offensive" era than 10 years later today.

2000 - It was an exciting year for sure and Rohan did show flashes but the passing game was maddening with Booty in the game. 6-27-2 for 65 yards in Arkansas game.

2002 - You may want to look at Mauck's box scores. He was 4-12 for 52 yards against Mississippi State and threw for 134 yards in the UF win. In the 6 games he played he was sub .500 completion and averaged 130/game. Randall's stat average was similar to these numbers.

2004 - 6, 6, 8, 10...number of completions in last 4 games of the year. Mirror image. The 2 QB situation was a shite show.

Will not know about BH either because he is not likely to play at all. Makes no sense to me, but I have no reason to expect anything different.

This year? Nah. AJ is done and we are left to hope that BH is the real deal. If BH isn't, LSU is completely screwed on offense.

this was said from 2008-2010....then 2011 happened.

I suspect that even if we win, I'm going to walk away having seen a heaping pile of shite on offense.

there is very little actual reason to be optimistic

There is nothing in the way of actual evidence to support it. And that's sad

Why even follow LSU if it makes you so miserable?

Indeed, why willingly engage in any endeavor that just makes you feel so bad?

Why not just take up knitting and forget about college football? You obviously don't seem to have the stomach for it.
