FWIW this is essentially the same play we ran in the 2007 MNC game for a touchdown to Dickson.

Did we lign up right?

We had a crucial TD called back vs Arky in '07 because Early didn't line-up right.

I didn't notice it until now but lane just pulled what Gus did to us in auburn. Chavis needs to get his shite together.

There are three rules in play :

Must have 7 on line of scrimmage

Must have 4 in the backfield

Any player who is covered up by another on the line of scrimmage is not an eligible receiver and cannot go down field

They either violated # 1 or # 3.

Did we have a timeout in OT? My first reaction when they lined up was "Call timeout!" to make sure our defense knew what to do or discourage the play altogether.

Actually, must have at least 7 on line of scrimmage. You can have 8 or even 9, as long as you follow the eligible receiver rules.

No. See above.

The flanker to the left of Robinson is not on the line. Look at the helmets--he is clearly behind Robinson and White.

I don't think CRob went out for a pass. If he was on the LOS, then the player outside him wasn't. If the player outside CRob in on the LOS, then CRob is in the neutral zone.

No sour grapes just stating what I think the gif shows.

#2 must've been on the LOS, otherwise it was illegal. He probably told the ref he was on.

Which doesn't mean he was on the LOS

No, he was an eligible reciever because he was the furthest outside man on the LOS.

I played WR in HS and the refs would always give us a little leeway. You'd say 'Hey, I'm on' or 'Am I on?' and they'd help you out. I wouldn't be surprised if college players have the same interaction with the refs that we did.

Again, doesn't mean the play was legal. As we all saw.. the refs screw up. The ref on the other side of the field didn't even force Henry to become set.

Do you REALLY think havign an extra man in the backfield mattered in that play? Bama beat us.

You don't think an illegal formation on a trick play has an effect on the play? The trick of the play was the personnel and formation.

2 feet off the line happens much more than you're aware of, you just don't notice it until a trick play of this magnitude occurs. It's never called, and as long as the player and the ref were clear, which I suspect they were, it's a non-issue.

Cam was on the LOS, covering up the inside guy, making the slot WR ineligible. If Cam was not on the LOS then they don't have 6 on it

The formation is good. The WRs in pattern weren't.

I still think it's a legal play. very creative.

LSU fans aren't used to watching any semblance of a creative offense designed to deceive the other team

I agree. In fact, on LSU's last drive, I was expecting a bit of a trick play to get us the TD. It never came and we settled for 3. I have to say I am very disappointed in our lack of creativity in this one. Then those fricking horrible OT play calls. And don't get me started on the lack of screens and seam/wheel routes.

For the second time, Saban out hatted Miles. The fake punt, now this.

And it is an ineligible WR. REC gonna REC tho
