I think it would even be easier on him had we lost, but at least made a game of it.

We haven't met many, if any, teams that out-matched us with players, but we lost most of those games due to coaching.
This x 1000.
This is the national perception of LSU football now. Very few teams have the ability to out talent us on the field. By and large when we lose games, it's because of poor coaching.

when LSU wins, it's because we just have better talent, not better coaching
when LSU loses, it's because of poor coaching
I love and hate this place so much

quote:Exactly, as I have said before, the very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Les and the staff do the same bullshite you mentioned time and time again. That's what drives the fans insane, more so than our overall record in my opinion.
I don't think so...because we still lose games by not being prepared, bonehead decisions, and time management issues. Those are hallmarks of this coaching staff and will not ever change.

Move on, gang. Every non-SEC person I talk to knows we got screwed in that NC matchup; they say so. Everyone knows that Bama title has a HUGE asterisk next to it. Think about it. We pooped all over media darling USC's coronation in '03 and then almost pooped on Bama's in '11. We were f'ing with the media's attempts to control the outcome. It's what really turns alot of people off to college football. The playoff is going to make that worse. Get over it. We have a good coach and we don't cheat, unlike a couple of schools in our conference over in Alabama. We also don't shite on other teams' success--which, honestly, was more shocking to me than anything about the whole situation. I was floored that Bama was willing to go to the length they went to undermine our success because they couldn't get inside the 30 in their own stadium. Their coach showing up on the ESPN set at an SECCG game they weren't playing in so he could pimp his team? Pathetic.
It is so nice to know we actually do have fans who get it.

"Should haves" and "would haves" are talk for losers. Pumpers are like the guy who goes to a dance and asks one of the less attractive girls to dance in order to avoid being rejected. If one sets his expectations low, it is easier to hit the target.

I agree but it still sucks that 1/9 wasn't even competitive. The game plan was lame, but lets face it: our passing game was hampered by two subpar QBs and no running team in college football history would've had much success against that Bama defense with it's huge LBs. Beating Bama in 2012 and keeping them from winning another NC would've healed that loss for most fans I think.

Why do we have to hurt ourselves

LSU_Army, that's a question that would probably be better put to the Grambling program.

biglego, from my experience whenever I wear LSU gear around the town, I have to tolerate Bama fans, whom I have never met before, coming up to me and being rude and intrusive on my personal space. In my many years, I have never experienced such lack of class from a fan base. Funny, there are a lot of TAMU fans in the area also. We usually have friendly and codial back and forth over our rivalry. Bama fans, IMO, are the most unpleasant aspect of the current environment of the SEC West experience, not the Ws and Ls.

If we had lost to tOSU in 2007, Les would never have made it through 2008.
