Struggled much of the game vs Towson. Let that sink in.

Still put up 400 yards of offense and 38 points.

It didn't bother me that the offense was flat vs Auburn. Turnovers and penalties were the problem

10 penalties and 3 turnovers against Towson.

9 penalties and 2 turnovers against AU!

Reducing penalties and turnovers is probably where it all starts...

There is a big difference between negative and realistic. We have a great defense and a below average offense. That below average offense wears our defense out late in teh game. Can't expect them to pitch a shut out every game when they are on the field as much as they are.

I agree with everything you said. As much as I wanted to see more balance this year, I'll take 4 yards and a cloud of dust right now. The obvious problem is that we have serious injury problems on the OLine and our coaches might not be able to fix that. We have been very lucky over the past few years when it came to injuries and such. This year it might be catching up with us.

I probably need to revise to "The only thing true is that the team has struggled to score on offense since the National Championship Game"..

I think consistency has been lacking in our offense since the NCG. Partially because of turn overs and partially because of play calling. There is definite room for a lot of improvement IMO.

There you have it. Remove the turnovers and penalties, and you probably have a different story even last night.

Seriously need to include the TE's more in the passing game.

1) It was Townson

2) Did you watch the first half, by chance? If you did, you too would have realized there were serious problems with the offense. It wasn't just a matter of "not showing up."

I agree with this....however, this isn't the only obvious problem with the offense.

Who has stopped supporting the team. Give me ONE example

You're a moron. Go back and look at all of the posts from yesterday when the game was falling out of reach. A huge number of fans threw in the towel yesterday with their forecasts for the rest of the season. If you think that is supporting the team then you really are a moron.

Yes I did.

So the question is what changed since Washington?

Injuries.

Penalties and Turnovers haven't receded.

Playing on the road.

You are definitely in over your head on a football forum.

You are going to get strong reactions to any shite show from any fan base. Fans are passionate.

Players losing confidence.

Miles overreacting and becoming more conservative. He does this anytime he sees something he doesn't like.

The first drive vs Auburn and the first vs UF were good drives, but the offensive playcalling became extremely shitty afterwards in both games. It isn't helping player confidence to "hold on" to a 3-6 point lead.

Oh, thanks for the lesson. It sure does seem that I was mistaken and most everyone in this thread has agreed with you and the OP. I guess you've "proven" that I was wrong in that respect, huh?

Just because you've found a place amungst a bunch of losers doesn't make your point correct.

Injuries and penalties and turnovers will do that.

I hated the conservative play-calling on third and long last night. Horrible.

I remember, too.

For those of you that are predicting "disaster"...please...please stay away.

Anyone looking at this team objectively I think can see a relative disaster coming. I say "relative" because that is compared to our good years, especially last year. We are probably going to lose at least 3 games with this offense, unless there is a major turnaround.

Do you think your posts do anything to help the situation?

I don't think my posts have any effect on the LSU football team, period. If they do, the team has bigger problems than me.

I think the thought by most of us is that "IF" we continue to play as we have been.....then the rest of the season can be a problem! Normally you would expect to see improvement from week to week and most of us see a regression in the quality of play. If being concerned equates to being a bad fan, I think the majority of us are then in that category.

That is par for the course on this board.

Whether people agree or don't IN THIS THREAD means nothing. It doesn't support anything as reflective of what the fan base is thinking.

What it really means is that the OP struck a chord with certain fans emotionally - many of whom have demonstrated a willingness to jump off a bridge in flames at this point - others that are confused and being clumped in with the suicidal faction.

I don't think many disagree that the offense needs major work. Most probably don't have a problem with venting and being critical.

Many have a problem with the outright concession of the entire season after 1 loss. There's still a chance we can get this right and make it all the way. That's it.
