6. Those who seem to believe in an SEC-Alabama conspiracy conveniently forget that the week before the Tennessee game, South Carolina was only down one score with 5 minutes left, and Alabama had about 120 yards in penalties compared to only about 60 for South Carolina. Someone please show me the conspiracy in that.

I suppose you can argue that the fact that Alabama consistently is the least penalized team in the SEC is due to discipline and coaching (Bama was the least in 2008, least in 2007, 4th in 2006), but how do you explain the fact that opponents of Alabama consistently are the most penalized? In 2006, Alabama's opponents were the most penalized team in the SEC. Ditto for 2007. 2005, the refs went easy on Bama's opponents... Bama's opponents finished 4th most.

Revenue for the Big 12 as opposed to the SEC is not that much difference. 2007-2008 for the Big 12 was $113.5 million and for the SEC was $127.6 million. But key is the fact that the Big 12 doesn't share equally with the bottom feeders:

quote:

Unlike conferences like the Big Ten or the Atlantic Coast, the Big 12 does not share its revenue equally among its schools. And Pearlman's declaration means that the current system will remain in place, despite some pointed criticism in recent years by some of the conference's schools with lower athletic budgets.

Big 12 schools share half of their television revenue, with the other portion set aside. That money is then distributed -- with the schools that play in more televised men's basketball and football games, receiving a greater share of the pot.

Schools also earn a greater share of funding for participating and advancing in the NCAA basketball tournaments.

So LSU could potentially make more in the Big 12 than the SEC.

Isn't anyone in the LSU-AD office capable of connecting the dots?

2004 - "leverage" penalty gives Auburn a 2nd chance at a missed PAT. The rarest penalty in organized football, has not been called before or since.

2007 - Chad Ramsey commits the most blatent chop block ever against LSU's defensive star, no penalty.

2009 - Refgate, numerous, almost weekly, laughable attempts to favor the Gumps. Bama booster supervises replay booth.

SEC only conference without a round robin in scheduling other division, favors home schools.

This could become a book, but we are the suckers of college football. SEC officials are like the Russian judges at the Olympics. Are you blind?

If you are in a poker game for more than 4 hands and you don't know who the patsy is, you're the patsy. LSU has allowed itself to be the patsy of the SEC.

This rule is in effect by request/order of Alabama and Auburn who insist on keeping their annual games against Tennessee and UGA respectively. It's is ridiculous that the rest of the conference must bow to the wishes of these schools.

This is the dumbest fricking thread I have ever seen.

Ask Sewanee, Tulane and Georgia Tech how leaving the SEC benefited them.

Then go ask Arkansas and South Carolina how much joining the SEC benefited them.

Also, everyone needs to stop crying about playing Florida every year. If you want to prove you're the best, you beat the best. Most of you are acting like a bunch of pussies who are scared we will never beat them again.

LSU has more in common with colleges in the Central part of the US (All the Texas schools and Okla) than 700 miles away in South Carolina (who left the ACC becasue of ACT scores), Tenn hillbillies and Kentucky who belongs in the Big Ten with the other basketball schools.

There are a million reasons Louisiana has more in common with the midwest, and a million reasons we have in common with the Deep South.

The fact is we are one of the founding members of what is the best conference in America. Yes, something may be rotten in Denmark, but that doesn't mean you secede.

That's is like cutting off someones head to fix a broken leg.

Funny, two years ago our "LSU Tigers" were chanting "SEC" after we beat Ohio State in the National Championship game, which we likely got in based on our resume in the SEC. And now everyone wants out to go play in a conference with shittier teams and shittier coaches so that we can "win".

The pussification of LSU.

Also BCS standings 1/UF 2/Bama 3/UT, all are undefeated, but why do you think the top 2 are from the SEC? Because it's the best conference in the NCAA.

This is a 5 page thread. Link to every post that claimed we want to leave the SEC so we can "win"?

And a Big 12 league with LSU and Arkansas would be equivalent to an SEC without LSU and Arkansas.

#1 Florida
#2 Alabama
Ole Miss 45 votes
Auburn 9 votes
UGA 9 votes

#3 Texas
#10 LSU
#12 Okla State
Nebraska 64 votes
Oklahoma 5 votes
Texas Tech 4 votes

Take LSU and Arky to the big 12, we would replace you with ease with FSU-west and GT-east

Or because those are the only undefeated teams from BCS conferences and the teams have jumped around since the beginning of the year.

FWIW, if LSU and Bama switched schedules, they would both be 9-1 right now.

Its only dumb if you disagree.

I'd leave this rotten, dishonest, biased conference in a split second - Big 12 would be my choice.
