No way this game is played Tuesday night. Even Wednesday night is dicey. A high in the 30s means the ice won't melt fast. Then it'll be in the 20s Wednesday night.

At worst, I think they move it to Wed. However I just don't see anyway that they don't play the game this week, even if its only in front of 100 people. LSU definitely doesn't want to cancel it outright, and I don't think schedule allows much (if any) room to play at a later date

Yes, but this game will be played Wednesday night or not at all.

I think the concern could be that Kentucky may not be able to fly back out until Thursday

I would guess the game is still on.

My guess is that the game will be played Wednesday night. Kentucky will fly in at some point during the day Wednesday, after all of the weather has passed and everything is thawed out at the airport (The high Wednesday is in the 40's with no chance of precip.) Kentucky would then be able to go home after the game Wednesday.

However, UK might have to go in and out of the NO airport...it turns out that BR airport has no de-icing equipment.

Louisiana government officials are too dumb to have a plan to combat the icy roads so they just say "frick it" and shut down the roads so the moron drivers can't hurt themselves by plowing into guard rails.

Well shite.... Why don't you get them on the phone and explain it to them? That way they might be prepared. They're probably all sitting around in their offices just waiting on someone with a good plan to help them out.

kentucky will make it but they may play in front of no-one if the weather is bad enough, they could cancel it, mainly because LSU players have to travel.

I'll never be caught in a driving situation again in Louisiana with iced bridges. Saw a lot of people get hurt those two days.
The sane thing to do would be to cancel the game and reschedule. LSU is putting people at risk of injury by making them travel to the game in icy conditions.

No way we play tomorrow. Wednesday is doable if UK fly in this afternoon and is willing to sit around an extra day.

They'll make a decision by midday.

First, Kentucky flies in to BR today (most teams fly in the night before a road game). I am assuming the weather is fine for travel today. Kentucky will play LSU tomorrow (Tuesday) night. The fact that fans cannot attend the game does not factor into the equation. Kentucky may not be able to fly out after the game (which is what most road teams do). That is their problem, not LSU's problem. Who cares if Kentucky gets home on Wednesday or even Thursday. Time for Tip Off.

Another thing to consider is if the officials can get to the game as well. I doubt they fly in the day before.

It would be a travesty if Hawthorne could not get to the PMAC to broadcast the game. Shite would get real then.

Maybe Jim could sleep inside the arena tonight so we don't miss the excitement of the pbp ?

Incorrect. If roads are closed and travel is hazardous, there will be no game Tuesday night.

LSU moved their gymnastics meet last Friday night to Saturday at 1. Why? So that the fans who wanted to come wouldn't be on the road in poor conditions.

That wasn't a basketball game against Kentucky on ESPN. This is. They probably won't have the same protocol.

There are more than just fans that have to get to the PMAC in order to have a game happen.

Players
Coaches
Officials
Event Staff
Clock operators

Just don't see how they can have a game tomorrow night if conditions are like expected.

When does the television crew usually arrive for a game? The day before?

I assume some time today. Not sure. But my point is that they'll do anything in their power to keep this one on as scheduled, due to the fact that it's on ESPN.

ESPN will have NO say in whether the game is played on Tuesday, believe it or not.

It is a simple equation: icy and closed roads = no game
