Much better question, because if Byrd drops it there is still 1-3 seconds left on the clock.

If Ms St makes the FG and the rest of the season goes exactly the same, no Miles is likely gone after A&M.

If they just line up and kick a field goal and it is blocked- ballgame. See how that works? Can you just appreciate one of the best plays in LSU history and realize that the coaches and players executed perfectly?

it was an exciting play. i agree with many an analyst who criticized it.

I may be wrong, but this has the feeling of a disguised dig on Miles. This argument goes both ways.

On the flip side,
If Ford doesn't step on the chaulk on his way to a TD and we put up 6, I think we are probably not playing Alabama in the championship game. Miles may be in the HOF with 2 NCs and all those wins.
If we tackle Yeldon on that screen pass, we have another SEC championship probably and playing for a NC.

If, If, if....

Miles should get more credit for his successes than he's getting. He deserves some criticism, but let's not take away what he has accomplished.

UGA would've whipped us in Atlanta that year.

yes they did let a lot of time run off the clock before snapping the ball, but the ball was in place ready for play with close to 22 seconds. he could have clocked it though since the play was on 3rd down.
