...and the clock hit 0:00, is Les Miles the head coach at LSU in 2015?

Still an honest question. Assume it did.

Assuming that happens changes a lot of things. It's possible he leaves on his own to go to Michigan. It also means his buyout would be lower and would've been fired after the A&M game 2 weeks ago

If Miles died in 2005, would he still be the LSU coach? Assume he did.

They would have reviewed it, because there was actually more than :01 on the clock. They let 2-3 seconds run off that shouldn't have.

The problem, or potential problem, with that play was that Flynn took longer than he should have to call for the snap. Flynn was a pretty smart QB, but he almost made a huge mistake by not being aware of the clock situation.

It was a great play call, but the ball should've been snapped sooner. That way, LSU could've still kicked a FG on 4th down.

Too close for comfort.

might have hurt recruiting but wouldn't notice a difference on the sideline

Let's say that Saban rethought his desire to coach in the NFL...LSU is a dynasty now. See how that works.

The clock wasn't going to hit zero.

I think the better question is...

If Miss St. hits the fg this year does is he still the coach

He would have still bolted for bama. He had his eyes on Bama while he was at LSU.

With a timeout still on the scoreboard it would have been ugly. It's hard to gauge these kind of things because we can't assume the aftermath. With a loss that season could have snowballed or it could have been a wake-up call for Les & what would eventually show itself as a pattern of really bizzare late game clock management.
One thing is certain: the fans weren't as conditioned to just "accept" losses like they are today.

I never understood people who thought Les was crazy for this. After Bird caught that touchdown the clock ran down from 7 seconds to 1. Literally, if it was incomplete the clock would have been around 5-7 seconds left.
