Despite my grave misgivings about QB play this year, I have drunk the Kool-Aid served up by the Super Pumpers' irrepressible optimism. Granted part of my enthusiasm is part and parcel of the usual delusional confidence that fans everywhere have in their teams before the first kickoff.

If the defense is anywhere near as good as the hype, that alone should keep the Tigers in every game this year. All that would be needed to make a legitimate and perhaps irresistible run to the championship would be a decent QB.

Good Luck Tigers!

I'm optimistic for this season. I think we can do better than 8-5 overall and trailing at halftime in every meaningful game.

But these guys are full-on troll with JJ was a good QB, Les wanted Chavis gone and Steele was his top choice. They live in imagination land so the narrative fits.

JJ was completely and perfectly dreadful in important games while at LSU.

There would be absolutely nothing wrong with a 9-3 season and a new years day bowl victory.

Four year cycle baw... The season is merely a formality.

Kool-Aid is all I drink in the summer. Every summer. This year it tastes particularly right.

Paging George P. Burdell. Did you know that he almost graduated? My father was at Tech during that time.

May the football gods grant LSU an serviceable QB.

Jefferson was pretty good vs Bama whenever he faced them minus 1/9.

I've found that preseason optimism never bites you in the arse as long as you can adjust expectations as the season unfolds.

No sense in trying so hard to not be excited for football season

After winning $1,300 in Vegas, I put $20 on the Tigers to win the title. I'll get another $500 if they do.

So you won $1280, not bad. I'm optimistic for 10 win season, and would love to see another 4-year cycle NCG appearance, but can't go that far with QB situation.

well, that is good...not much fun following a team that you expect to be shitty. in fact, most will not do it for long at all.

as long as your expectations are realistic enough that if they lose a few along the way, you are not just crushed you are just fine...

when I learned to just relax and enjoy the season regardless of what happens, I started liking LSU sports even more than before...

That attitude has always been the downfall of LSU football.

Yes it has.

Hey, don't get us started on all the resident MA's on here. Not in the mood to go after them right now.

With the Coaching Staff and Physical Talent that LSU currently has, there is no reason what-so-ever for anything less than a 10-2 regular season. This year or any year.

A 9-3 regular season with a Big win over a good team in a New Years Day Bowl would be a marginally and minimally acceptable Season.........

Optimistic, yes. But what is different from last year that will produce different results?
